Cape Town - It has been confirmed that All Black star Sonny Bill Williams will fight South African heavyweight, Francois Botha.
Die Burger has been reliably informed that Botha and Williams will square off in Durban on November 17 this year.
This comes after rumours earlier this year that Williams could take on the “White Buffalo” - as Botha is more popularly known.
Boxing promoter Thinus Strydom said a final decision about the fight was made on Wednesday night.
Botha was very confident earlier this year about a possible fight with Williams.
He told Rapport in February he wouldn't mind doing it "somewhere during half-time of a rugby match" and with "one hand tied behind his back".
Williams is in the All Blacks’ starting line-up for their Rugby Championship opener against Australia in Sydney on Saturday.
He has signed with the Panasonic Wild Knights in Japan for a year before he returns to play Rugby League in Australia next year.
