What a turn up for the books with the Lions beating the Cheetahs, that was pretty poor of the Cheetahs, for lets face it, there are less stars in that Lions side.

For the Cheetahs, Lood was again great at 4, Willie had moments of brilliance and Rhule looks to have muscled up and set to live at this level physically. Coenie looks really fit and Frans Venter had a good game at 12. Goosen going down injured so often was concerning.

For the Lions, I was really impressed with new boy Faf de Klerk at 9, he has real zip. Boshoff kicked really well.

Bulls vs Sharks game, was a messy affair thanks to the heat and humidity of Durbs.......the scoreline was flattering , but the better side one. Poor reffing and TMO calls gifted the Sharks the Reinach try when it was clear Bresler had both impeded the jumper and knocked the ball on in the line-out.

Lambie directed things well at 10, Frans was physical at 12 and that cross kick was pure class. It was good seeing Beast throwing off some defenders. There was no stand outs and no-one let the side down.

For the Bulls, Fouche at 10 was pathetic and Jacques du Plessis at 7 enhanced his reputation as a player for the future. Matfield looked way out of his depth.

Agree with everything here, I thought Hendricks was decent too. It was very sad to see Goosen struggling, it looked like they asked him to play even though he has not fully recovered yet, I hope they manage the boy properly or he won't reach the excellent potential he possesses.
I thought SP Marais was excellent, very impressive, tidy player. I was happy with Lambie's perfomance, and Frans was back to the beast we know he can be.

Yep Hendricks was good, he drew on his 7's experience and is a good addition to the Cheetahs.
SP Marais has always been good, he is a quality player, much the same as Andries Coetzee of the Lions is.......they are both nice attacking 15's........Coetzee should be back for the Lions shortly.
