Seb - a bit of sad news for you.

A while ago you mentioned on site that you heard that Mickey Rey has passed away and I then phoned him and found out that he was fine at the time.  However, I got the news that he did pass away a few weeks ago at the age of 88.

Older people may remember his wife Penny Coelen Rey - who was the first SA young lady to win the Miss World title in 1959.  She served o ut her year as Miss World and immediately married Mickey afterwards,   They used to farm on Goodluck Farm - inland from Tinley Manor Beach,    

I was close friends of both Mickey and his brother Johnnie Rey for many years,   When I first met Penny Rey in the 1980's she was still as beautiful as she was as Miss World - a classic beauty if ever there was one.   I can remember when I was introduced to her she said - "Its a privilege to meet the famous Tokkie Saayman."    That is how she was and still is and like she was always the perfect lady - Mickey was always the perfect gentleman.

Feel very said - but he had a long stretch.
