A kind gesture ou Makkie ,wasnt the 1955 version the one with Henry Fonda ? The Borodino scenes were played with tens of thousands of contemporary Russian troops if I remember correctly and is awesome especially sans all that crappy CGI !
Dunno about the '55 version, even less about the Russian one, couldn't finish the book ....... but the fairly recent BBC production was superb. Highly recommended..
