The normal objective approach is applied here - so nobody would be able to really cricize my assessments.

15   -    Lambie           6     Positional play was excellent - but he missed a high kick under pressure

14   -    Habana          7

13   -    De Villers       8

12  -     F Steyn           6      Defence excellent - nothing much on attack

11  -    Pietersen        7     Outstanding break and try.    Could have had a second one.

10  -    M Steyn            4

  9  -    Hougaard       7

  8  -    Spies               7

  7  -   Alberts              8

  6  -   Coetzee            7

 5  -    Kruger              6

 4  -   Etzebeth           7

 3  -   Beast                6

 2  -   B Du Plessis   7

 1  -  Du Plessis        6

The replacements were very questionable.    Werner Kruger       -       4

                                                                                 Strauss                    -       4

                                                                                 Daniel                      -       3

                                                                                Pienaar                     -       6

                                                                                Olivier                       -        4

Steyn's main problem was his goalkicking and also his other kicking - that one going over the dead ball line was really the pits.    Other aspects of his play was acceptable, but it is impossible to give ny mark higher than 4.

When Kruger and Strauss came on our scrummaging became hugely questionable.   We are lucky we have better props than him and Strauss did not do himself any favours today.

Daniel was on the field - or was he?   He is definitely not up to standard on international level.   Same applies to Olivier - who also was basically  not really contributing anything.

Fransie played well today, I think you've forgotten a few things that he did when attacking, like the grubber kick he played for De Villiers and the countless runs he made drawing 2 or more defenders to tackle him. I think he deserves a 7.

De Villiers I think should be a 7.5 and JP and Hougaard should be 8's.

I must admit that the Morne's kick that went into deadball was unlucky, the bounce was completely against him, but his kicking overall was horrible.

I think a score of 4 for Morne is 5 points higher than he deserves.
