Seedings for the US Open

The tournament starts next Monday. Quite a few men are out including Novak, Warinka, Raonic, Kei Nishokori. Nice to Sharapova back.Schapovalov and 18 year old who beat Nadal will be playing. Ostapenko a 20 year old latvian who won the French open will be interesting to watch with her very agressive game.Hoping Federer wins a record 6th US Open. Garbine Muguruza for the womens look a fair bet. We shall see.Always nice to watch a game where the ref hardly ever effects a result.

Surprising to see Murray seeded ahead of Fed given Wimbledon and Oz.

 Well he has the points on the board. Wonder if being fresh will be good for him like it was for Federer. Lots a chances for folk in mens and womens draw.

I know he's always got his finger up his butt however one has to admire his fighting spirit.

I love his passion and determination to succeed. 

Magical player ... hell of a competitor.

 Nadal is great competitor but he has lost to an 18 year old Shapovalov and to Kyrios I think it was. Leaving out clay Nadal has won 3 hardcourt and two on grass.When it comes to ATP 1000 event the results flatter Nadal versus Federer. There in not one ATP 1000 on grass. Nadal gets to have a go at at least three on clay I can think of!   Makes a huge difference

 
Quite right.

Those born and raised on clay courts seem to struggle on other surfaces. One would think that they'd get use to the quicker courts over the years.

Still ... I can't help cheering for him.

I just love his whole approach to the sport.

 

 Taking into account thatin the next few years all of Federer, Nadal and even Murray will be on the way out - I think the younger players coming through are Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem and Grigor Dimitrov.    I have been watching them quite a lot recently and think in three or four years time they will occupy the top three positions in the rankings.  

 
Zverev certainly has a lot of talent.

Kyrios is another with natural born talent. Such a pity he's tantrum addict.
