This guy is not included in the Bulls CC squad and there is one bit of advice I can give him.  Since he is not going anywhere fast - he should get out of the Bulls contract asap and move to another province.    The Sharks or the Stormers should sign him .

the sharks might be a decent bet but the stormers is a no go sorry to say. cheetahs are always a option and at least there way they are playing is builded towards backline play. will suite any backline player that is playing for them

What bulldust. I do not believe that every bright youngster should just be thrown in at the deepend. These players' careers should be well-planned and not be rushed. Johan Goosen has been moered into the S15, and what happened? That is one example. We should stop pushing these guys too soon. Yes, Naas Botha used to say: "When you are good enough, you are old enough", but the game has changed. It is 1000 times mre intense and much harder than when he was playing part-time.

If a player would not understand that everything is not about the here and now, his management should help him understand that. The James O'Connors of this world are few and far between.

Ceradyne, I am going to ask you one question and you should answer it honestly.

Who in the bulls CC squad is better than him?

I wouldn't know. I have not seen him play in the CC team.

I am going to ask you one question, and you should answer it honestly.

Should each of the U21 JWC squad just walk into a CC team?

No, only if there is no better player. And the Bulls don't have a better inside centre. Neither Wyunadn nor Venter are better than Serfontein. Reason i asked the question.

Fact or opinion?

it wll alsways be an opinion. Ceradyne. It is impossible to prove one player better than another on fact. You know that i do. But I would not rate either one of them better than Serfontein. So there the surprise that he is not even in the squad.

I have a lo of sympathy with windpom's view re rushing players in. Could he not have been given some time off the bench perhaps.

Anyhow I would stray on the cautious side. Even Goosen. We all want to see him in a Bok jersey. Is that the right thing. I believe backs can get considered at an earlier age than say a tight forward. Serfontein looks like a toughie to me. On balance I think I would give him some game time off the bench - say 20 minutes etc.

Difficult one this as you need to tailor your answer also to a specific player - some mature faster etc. Goosen and Serfontein are huge talents - handle with care!

some people can be rushed into the deepend straight away and others cant.

poc0ck and james oconner bieber were both rushed into super XV when they were 18 and oconner even played for the wallabies at 18 too. and just look at both of them now, two amazing players and despite their young age are now battle hardened wallaby veterans.

goosen wasnt rushed IMO, he had the skills to pay all the spXV bills. his injury while tragic, considering the loss he is to the cheetahs and IMO the Boks (not so much baby boks, cos they won)m is just that an injury and that could have happened to him anywhere anytime.

i will say ben10s suggestion is the most sound, just bring him in off the bench and let him find his groove and prove his worth.theres no need to rush him in the starting lineup, but there no need to baby him either.
