Australia won the hit fest by 5 wickets with two Balls to spare after the Proteas scored 80/1 in their seven overs.
The Proteas made a mistake by starting with Hashim Amla who scored 4 runs from 9 balls and being 11/1 after 2 overs. In the remaining 5 overs they scored 69 runs with Quinton de Kock not out on 41 runs from 20 balls. Faf du Plessis made 27 runs from 13 balls.
Faf also made a mistake by letting Hendriks bowl 2 overs and not let Abbott bowl a second over after his first over went for 4 runs with a wicket as well. Tsotsobe in his only over went for 21 runs.
I think the idea was that in view of the T20 WC starting in a weeks time, to give the new bowlers a chance to see how they shape up in T20 cricket - but it did not work out. Neither of Philander, Morne Morkel or Dale Steyn were playing so the bowling attack was iffy.
