I see the Kiwis are holding theirs in Rotorua this weekend.
With Rio Olympics just around the corner both NZ and SA are strong contenders for that first ever Sevens Gold at an Olympics.
Other prospective medalists might include;

England
Australia
Samoa

No doubt national coach Sir Gordon Titjiens will have an eye out for emerging talent.
Las Vegas Sevens next weekend too - any bets on who will take it out?

Thy had the tournament in December in George. Better to watch out for talent at the Under 20 WC - that is where SA keep a keen lookout for players with speed and strength.
Yes the tournament next week - with North America freezing over - will play be possible in Las Vegas?
Anyway - SA won last year after showing poor form in the previous two tournaments. They have an easy draw in the group stages - so they may be in contention again.
Ah Yes. The Junior World Champs are being held in NZ this year.
Never Ever Ever has NZ lost at home so no pressure on the boys.
Different coach of course from Dave Rennie who is now very successful with the Chiefs which could explain why the Junior All Blacks lost the last two years to the Baby Boks.
Obviously the new coach has'nt got a very good eye for talent and should the Junior All Blacks lose at home be it on his head.
Looking at the projected forecast for Vegas Sevens it's 17-19 degrees celcius. Perfect for Sevens.
After poor performances by our Sevens team lately and the national Sevens tournament today. Players will be under pressure to perform in Vegas or be replaced by the emerging talent coming out of this weekends games.
Will be interesting to see how 7's takes off from the Olympic platform and how it will develope from the world's greatest sporting arena...will the dominant always monopolize the honours or will we see new teams from the big countries...ie USA, Russia, China taking a place in the front...I think so, simply because the power and weight of the Gold Medal and obviously the huge density of people...it might take a few events to eventually unfold but common sense tells me it must happen.
Also, this Sevens influence will directly and indirectly be a spinoff for union...it will introduce rugby in a wider context and sport is business especially in those countries where the hunger to uplift quality of life is a huge driving force and incentive.
It augurs well for the game in general.

Sas I hear you and your argument is probably right in the shorter term view but I was speaking in a much longer term context, ie 4 decades from now, that is if this world will still be here then (at the rate we are deteriorating in all areas, I'm not confident).
