congrats to the sharks, never easy beating the crusaders, but incompetent officials played a huge roll.
the last peanlty of the day was a huge screw jup from the ref, it was beast who touched the ground from the scrum and ontop of that he wasnt binding to franks??? o_O
some rubbish calls from the TMO. the last penalty in the first half against fruean was looked at cos they thought it was a shoulder tackle, the first thing u see is a solid arm tackle, but then the TMO calls it late, WTF??? what a fucking moron, play anything in slow motion and it looks slower then real life, when u play that tackle in normal speed it was a legitimate tackle.
be that as it may, u can only play whats in front of u and romanos and todds peanlty were costly for the crusaders.
crusaders look tired around the 60min mark, the tough SA fixtures from SA finest looked and the travel factor looked to take its toll on the crusaders, so theres a good chance the sharks still would have won even with out other influences.
one thing i think was very evident here was the lack of frans steyn in the midfeild, crotty and fruean pretty much owned bosman and jordaan. jordaans petit frame porved no match for frueans power and the crusaders first try was on the back of jordaan not being able to effect fruean in any way what so ever. despite jordaan holding onto fruean, fruean still managed to gather go forward momentum and draw in undungane before passing to crotty who doubled round. there was also that power bump that left jordaan sprawled on his back looking at the sky, lolz.
good to see jp peiterson finally make a contribution to the sharks cause, it was his best game of the years easy.
tyler blyendaal continued to show some class touches with that boot of his and between tom taylor and him, the crusaders look good for any carterless future.
peiter steph du toit was one of the best on ground, a real work horse, on attack and defence he was a real physical presence, he was my man of the match.
marcel coetzee had a very good game too, starting to reclaim that 2012 form where he was one of the comps best.
the battle up front was interesting, i thought both tight 5 forwards were quiet (except du toit), they did their job and nothing else.
crusaders leave with 5pts from SA so thats not bad and they have an easy game against the force next week which should see the return of carter.
sharkies go munch munch crunch,,,
SA social services is in the Crusader locker room questioning Fruean on his abuse of Jordaan. Plumtree being charged with reckless endangerment of a minor.
Sorry - you lot said Fruen played the fool with Jordaan who missed one Fruean one tackle on Fruaen to be exact. The case of the tackle that Sasue mentioned -Fruaen was tackled and on the ground but did have the opportunity to off- load - hence the try.
For the rest Jordaan also beat Fruaen twice and also offloaded balls while being tackled - Incidentally I just checked the FOXSport team stats. Thus far Fruaen in the game got 11 points - Jordaan got 14 I am absolutely sure that Jordaan's tally will be higher than that of Fruaen at the end of the day.
@mikey,
fruean wasnt on the ground when he offloaded the ball, he was running and dragging jordaan with him. fruean then drew in undungane before passing the ball to crotty.
a few things about foxsports stats is they are not gospel, they do get it worng as i have mentinoed many many times, but more importnatly the scores are not finalised. even after tackles have been added ionto the equation, its not uncommon to see other stats get changed.
but heres another thing to take into consdieration, fruean lost 4 pts cos of a penalty, the penalty was a late tackle at the end of the 2nd half which was a huge wrong call that gifted the sharks 3pts. had the saffa officials not fudged that call up, fruean would be ahead on jordaan, food for thought.
each to their own though bro, but IMO fruean was alot better then jordaan, he was consistently getting over the advantage line thorugh the sharks midfield and jordaan and b bosman for that matter struggled a lot to contain him.
offloading balls intackles is always good, except if ur fruean who will ALWAYS offload a ball or two in the tackle in every game he plays. its a requriement IMO that a center be able to that.
IMO jordaan has all the gas and hot stepper tactics, but he needs to play on the wing. i dont think he will ever make the Boks A team playing at 13, hes a lot like tim nani williams, can offer a lot of attacking options in the midfiled, but has defensive issues which need to be addressed.
saSUE if Bissie and alberts had been playing your wee crusties would have been murdered.
Just be thankful you played a Stormers side missing 8 starting players or else your hapless crusties would have been truly hammered. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to realise this only a little honesty.
Crusaders are way overrated. mcaaaw is way over the hill and carter on the wane. Dagg was of no effect andthe show pony read is just that a show pony hahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha
Away with the crusties they cant take the phyicality of even a watered down sharks side. How in the world woul dthey cope with a full strength Stormers pack I ask with tears in my eyes. Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahaha
And please saSUE no squealing by the ref. If we had a nz ref blowing as well as the saffa ref did we would be over the moon.
Well done to Lambie also of course for nailing all those kicks especially after that disgusting high tackle. that should have been a yellow.
Lets hope we see a contrite nz contingent who know now the writing is on the wall. Man what a side we can pick for the Boks Irrisistible forward power to start with! Roll on the 4 nations
Sasue
You do not tackle a player long after the ball was gone. Fruean is a good attacking player - but he he did miss two tackles as well and he could have avoided that late tackle, which you said was not late. The tackle was made after the ball was passed back and on the ground already adter being passed back by Jordaan. If that is NOT a late tackle one wonders what is one.
Oom Mike, stop embarrassing yourself ....Fruean made Jordaan look like road kill.
Mozart
I wanted to see what happened as to the issue raised by Sasue about Friean. Joirdaan missed one tackle on Fryaen - Fruean missed two on Jordaan and then made a late tackle after Jordaan has passed the ball and the recipient had it in his hand.
You know Mozart - that your sentence is BULLSHIT and completely so. Sorry aboyut being rude - but you have to stick to facts and then use one incident to illustrate a rubbish post - in this case you are the fool embarrassing yourself.
Total denial OOM Mike.....have the grace to admit your pick for Bok 13 looked like a school boy out there.

I am waiting for the stats on the game from ESPN. According to the Foxport stats Joraan missed one tackle of Fruean. Jordaan busted 3 tackles - two attemots made by Fruaen.
O - I forget - stats only count when it fits your dumb ideas - otherwise not. There was one tackle made where Fruaen ended up on his knee and off-loaded the ball - all the rest he came to a dead stop and on two occassions he was tackled back.
Incidentally according to the Foxsport point system - Jordaan got 22 points for his performance in that game and Fruean got 17 points. To make you even more miserable - in the game last week your hero playing against Fruan got 4 points - while Fruaen scored 19 points. The point difference between Jordaan and Fruan was +5 in the case of Jordaan and - 15 in the case of De Jongh.
Are you feeling silly enough already. Wait also for tomorrow when the official stats come out on ESPN. I will make sure those stats are also put on this site as background information.
Mozart - when are you ever going to learn not to base your game assessments on one incident?
@mikey,
i was teasing a lot in regards to jordaan, i know u have been lobbying jordaans cause very strongly and with the crusaders loss, i sought enjoyment elsewhere and needling jordaan was an easy target as i knew u would respond. mozter hopping on the band wagon helped a lot and i was left LMAO big time as a result, :oP
things to note though, i did think jordaan was good, but he didnt have a complete game, there are areas on defence he needs to work on.
i have a very saffex like attitude when it comes to the midfiled, IMO bigger is better, if i was plumtree i would put jordaan out on the wing where his speed can be more efficently used, something i think worth looking at.
the modern game forces the midfeilders to be not only be defnsively sound but be great ball distributors and create space. the main tools needed to create space is being an effective crash baller or be skifully nimble. jordaan ticks the skilful nimble box easy peasy, but he has zero crash ball prowess.
when jordaan goes up against other players who are well versed along those lines of physicality, hes always going to come of 2nd best, something i thought that happened against the crusaders.
it wasnt just fruean/joraan crotty got the better of bosman too, but luckily for the sharks one or two players dont make a team.
in regards to those foxsport stats, jordaan has 3 tackle breaks to his name and u say two of those were on fruean??? but according to those same sources, fruean didnt miss any tackles, so somehting dosent compute.
the stats are not 100% reliable as i mentioned here and many times elsewhere, but i would like to know what time in the game jordaan broke the tackle of fruean, cos ive had the game playing on my laptop while ive been working and blogging and i didnt see what u did.
Sasue
You really got me going. I looked at the ESPN stats and the stats on Fruean was as follows:-
C Fruean 0/0 0 0/12/14 46 1 2 4 1 1/1 0/0 1 0/0I was rather impressed with Fruean's attaking stats and especially the line break and off-loads - but his defence stats look very poor - 1 takle made and 1 tackle missed.
Not very good as far as I am concerned. And the more final info on Foxsport also gave Jordaan 22 points against Fruean's 17.
However, I admit you got me bloody mad about the issue - and caught me out neatly. I would also admit that Jordaan was more active than normal and he did play a riole in two cases of penalties converted by Lambie - namely in catching the full back near the tryline and forcing a carry over and in one case of a tackle went forward and the Crusaders missed out and a penalty followed.
I am not saying Jordaan is acceptable on attack - I would much rather see some real line breaks and tries from him. However, it was noticeable that he was much more active playing outside Bosman than playing outside Francois Steyn - so things may look better in future forhim as well.
2 things this showed.
1 crusaders definitely overrated and NZ conference looking very weak. Dependent on corrupt officials to help them win.
2. Best Saffas team is cheetahs
Spot on Sas, Frans was missed in the midfield. Bosman provides nothing at 12 and Jordaan was sorely exposed. They need the physicality of Frans at 12, but he does need to get fit and quickly.
