Sharks backline

Sharks backline looks to have some good "head " players. Michalak, Lambie, Whitehead and Viljoen. One wonders though how robust they will prove to be over a long season. A bit like the Stormers backline - number of smallish, creative players.  Opposition sides will not worry too much about running at them. I am thinking here more of the big polynesian backs.

Ludik is on the wing to help sharkies cope with bulle's tactical kicking. Hope the sharkies are fit becasue the altitude up there is a killer and earns the bulle repeated wins in the last 20 minutes.

Altitude is never an issue for the Sharks at Loftus. They won twice there last year.

@UShark, Try and convince Beeno about that.

Try to convince science or Boks like Garth Wright that altitude isn't a factor. Wake up windpomp - no use making a complete twit of yourself here as well.

Its early in the season - how fit are the guys. Playing at altitude this early will really test a coastal sides fitness.

Nobody says its impossible to win at altitude but sensible folk know it is a factor . Ask any coastal side whether they prefer playing at altitude or at the coast and you will find ALL will opt for a coastal encounter.

Hey Dumb-Ou, in the last 10 years the Sharks have won 4 out of 6 times at Loftus. What's all this nonsense about altitude?

UShark, you will learn that altitude is only one of the standard excuses. The others standard ones are rain, refs, injuries, the bounce of the ball, dew. Others are added as the season progresses.

The Sharks backline is a shameful mess. Michallak was done nearly eight years ago, Lambie us utterly useless at 10, JP Pietesen is a far better wing that 13 and certainly better than any other wing in the squad.

Regarding altitude, it certainly is not a factor. SA does not have any area of high altitude, rather mid at best. Only countries like Mexico have any kind of advantage as the altitude there (+20.000ft!!) leaves players gasping for air after 40 minutes. Lookng at our records, our two most successful grounds for the Boks are both at sea level. Loftus is only our 6th most successful venue. So what of altitude being our primary weapon? Furthermore, the Bulls have had more success away than at home!

So the scene is set as the players enter the stage......Ceradyne is Vlagman and UmgeniShark is Duke....for the mob mentality to succeed I daresay you're short of a member.  I won't hold my breath for any surprises, there'll be nothing new in this play, it's amazing how anyone can have such hate, bitterness and fixation to follow Beeno around from one board to another.......alas, all credibility is lost in that single act.

Sports writers, rugby commentators, resident and foreign coaches, players etc etc all know altitude is a factor and it often gets mention.End of story.

dorkie dumbo I repeat that this does not mean one can't win up there. You, as usual are not grasping what is being said. 

We also have here the very undistinguised vlagman/windpomp I call him (Ceradyne) from SS baord -  a highly computer literate oak from the UK - besmirching the board. He was a mod (got the boot as a mod) and  founder member of SS board who presence here is a mystery - if one thinks what positive reasons he might have for being here. The third rotten apple beeno 2 or tai pain was I think banned but will no doubt reappear.

All very strange in that they  intensely disliked our company of SS board but they follow us here?  Perhaps they are masochists and they just love having their butts kicked and are bored to death with the dying SS board? Of course they could well be trying to destroy this board as they did SS board. A leopard does not change its spots I guess.

So to all - just be  aware of these dynamics as we continue and keep your cool and watch as these oaks go about their business trying to divide and destroy. On the other hand taken in a certain way they are hilarious and every board needs a clown or two!

Well  said, Alu. We don't miss, stalk or remotely wish to go back on there. They wanted us to go....no sweat, we went. Then they follow us on here.......where's the sense in that? They rehash the same old arguements.....its old, stale and boring. A few weeks ago they were all on here...including "Herr Banter Box" himself. I said it all along, it's just a matter of time before they become bored shitless with themselves and gravitate towards this board and it's also just a matter of time before that board shuts down.

I'm boisterous by nature, I live in Durban, I hope like hell the sharks win tonight but I dont buy all the crap I've read from the "experts" that they'll be the top SA team. The Bulls still look good, even though they're a young side. I'm also really looking forward to the Steyn/Lambie contest. I believe Pat is a great 10 but not yet ready to take over from Steyn.

hawker your cadet reporter ou windpomp is running scared and has not yet fronted up to make a prediction. Um shark is getting over a very severe trauma so I will not pressurise him further. Imagine being falsely accused of being dorkie. Sometimes I hate myself!!

There will be times we get it wrong and it appears that this is one of those times, as decent folks should, I apologise and wish you a great stay on the board. I won't hold it against you for being a Sharks supporter either LOL. There's some bad history from the other board and we've had moles try and disrupt ours for obvious reasons. I did have a go at a prediction game on the old SA rugby board I think it was. Was second on both comps and overall winner I believe. Dorkie could confirm this.

It takes to much time and I don't  today generally watch matches where SA sides are not involved.
