Pietersen after retiring from Rugby in 2017 he became incolved in Coaching at the Sharks:- The following is a summart of his coaching experince :-

1. Junior Coach at the Sharks Pietersen started his coaching career upon retirement, working with the Sharks' junior teams from early 2021.
2. Assistant Senior Rugby Coach at the Sharks He moved into an assistant role with the senior team in January 2022.
3. Head of Junior Rugby From July 2023, he took on a more senior management role in charge of the Sharks' junior program.
4. Head Coach of the Sharks Currie Cup Team In July 2024, he was appointed head coach of the Sharks for the Currie Cup competition, a role he has continued into the 2025 season. He led the team to the Currie Cup title in 2024.

Can the team draw something together and improve on the disastrous situation at presenmt it could help him to get the job of Head Coach.of the Sharks, I have my doubts though.

JP Pietersen has had absolutely no success in the currie cup as a coach and only there on sentiment. Even when he had the frontline sharks players with him, they still struggled.

Jake White has a new coaching role as a consultant for the rugby program at Selborne College, starting in 2026, after his Departure from the Bulls in 2025.

I guess you were wrong when you thought Plumtree should be the Bok coach huh Clever.

He tturned out to be as bad as White was a coach. Plumtree was fired twice as coach - but White set the record - he was fired 4 times. Both were incompetent and that was the only conclusion people can make.

Just one season ou Maaik. Set those surfer boys straight again and then Jake can leave before they start complaining about being expected to have some discipline again.

Then again ou Maaik, the Sharks franchise is doing so exceptionally well at the moment, you're right. It's probably a bad idea.

I was once a striong supporter of White as a coach - but having gonmr to Franc to watch the SA matches I started gettin g worried about him being a coach at all. My main disappointment became apparent when he was coachin g the Sharks - a totally disjointed team even though the team somehow got through t the emi where they lost a gainst the Crusaders by a record margin.

The problem was two-fold - White had favorites in teh team and when they fuckd up the rest of the team suffered and the favorites protected, John Smit in his book write that hite never had a match plan going into matches - nver tried to use backline players to be involved in attacking rugby. It was clear in the 2014 Super Rugby season as well.

In the end the palyers whose contracts were to be extended - 16 players said they would not renew thei contracts as long as White remains the Coach. Those were all top players in the team and the Sharks mana gement told White to resign or he wil be fired. White's conduct in 2014 was te dsame he did in the case of the Bulls and the result was the same,

In a way White ws the high priest of 10 man rugby and that is what ahppened in 2007 - in 2014 and in 2025, It is doubtful whether Jake would ever be a real top class coach and getting him re-appointed as coach by the S harks would end up in teh same mess White caused throughout his coaching career,
