Sharks lose the stats battle...win on the scoreboard.

I see none of the dominance I read in the reports. The Stormers made 25% more metres, beat 25% more tackles and made twice as many clean breaks. The difference was the Sharks defence of the tryline after these clean breaks had been made, the Stormers offloading and support running was actually superior. .. The Sharks defended bette. For the Stormers Allende and EB Viljoen who missed a shocker on Deysel's try, were a porous midfield. Allende missed 5 of his 11 tackle attempts. And his crabbing towards the sideline killed several moves ... The lineouts were poor as well with a dominated Stephanie losing at least 2 of his balls. Etzebeth was the best Stormers forward on the park by some distance. SP Marais had a good game, with the best offloads in either team and Kolbe made some dangerous breaks, which the Stormers couldn't cash in for tries. ... For the Sharks Lewies was much more effective than Stephanie, the du Preez brothers were strong against a puny Stormers loosie trio, Deysel looked good and Nkosi has a promising future, probably a more likely Bok than Senatla. I'm still waiting to see Thomas du Toit in a big scrum. .. An old style game, but woefully short of the standard of the Exeter/Wasps game.

Nothing new on the above issue.  The sole reason for the Stormers loss was the three normal players on Mozart's sh!t list - namely De Allende, Viljoen and du Toit.
Amazing how repetitive this member is - nothing new,   Except for listing the real problem in the team - namely at the flyhalf position - he goes repetitive again.

 Dr Moz I had to educate the normally reliable Plum who imagined the Stormers were comprehensively outplayed. I suppose its all due to rooitwits very bad influence assisted by that despicable JW and his medal ing kiwis pals!

 I suspect the stats in first half were pretty even but were better for the Stormers in the second half. Fleck needs to know he has not put the team together correctly.

Lets face facts - the problem with the Stormers are basically a malfunctioning loosie combination - comprehensively outplayed by the loosie combination of the Sharks ahd the half back combination - together with their substandard wings - also where they wre outplayed.  
Mozart also blame his pet hates who have not on the day played well enough -  but at least they made some inroads on attack, but that is not admitted by Mozart.     

'They have not played well on the day'....say no more, Stephanie, Allende and Viljoen were lousy. That's actually not repetitive,,,,,Stephanie has been average, not lousy, Allende hasn't played till the last few weeks and Viljoen was a mess in NZ. And yesterday they were all lousy....end of story.

Plum is showing his usual superior logic and judgement... well perhaps I shouldn't generalize & should say "in this instance he has shown superior logic and judgement". Credit where credit is due , I'm sure all reasonable people agree

Scoreboard I would say.
But besides winning it would be great to actually view a game of good rugby irrespective.
I do enjoy watching the Highlanders and the Hurricanes they provide excellent running rugby each and every time. Just wish that the SA teams could produce similar performances.

You've depended on stats for years now ... but to no avail ... after so many years of quoting these stats, you're still as clueless as you were way back then.

 I agree that the Sharks have come along somewhat....but they have a long and difficult road to travel to become contenders.
The mismanagement of this franchise over the past few years will take many years to recover their past standard and glory.
So in the meantime, we are saddled with supporting the Lions to do what is required.
 

 AJ it looks like the Sharks have that hunger. They way they are starting to defend says a lot for me. There also seems to be a bit of a freedom licence given.
Hopefully belief will soon enter the frame because when it does we'll be dealing with much better Sharks side.

Yes  the trained eye of Beeno was spot on once again. It was a fortunate win for the Sharks based on sound defense when their line was pressure - which was often enough.
RooiASS still cant come to grips with the reality of how good Eben is. The commentators and so many have said he had an outstanding game. But this buffoon, who gets totally intimidated by Eben even when merely watching on TV, trashes Eben and shows what a complete MAMPARA he is. Hahahahahaahhahahahaha

 I was actually going to say their back row let them down again. I thought that the locks and props did a good job but the likes of Kolisi and Carr got owned. Where as if you look at the the Du Perez twins. They gave the sharks good forward ball and seem to dominate the gain line. Something you expect your loose forward to do. Carr kept doing his chicken step and changing direction only to get knocked backed. it is good that players are trying to run into space but taking 3 steps to find out while going sideways is not going get you going forward. Especially teams like the Hurricanes that will own you. 
Good mention to the bulls though, I thought that they exposed the Hurricanes by having onto the ball and delaying their passes. 
coming back to the stormers, they are also missing their flyhalves which mean they had to put up with a no name. 
But Stormers back 3 simply not in the same class as the Du Preez twin and Philip van der Walt was immense
Philip van der Wal probably being the most unluckiest of players as he has been doing exceptionally well over the years and should be part of the bok squad.
