I would not call the game a top performance by either side - just too many errors by players on both sides.   So I had a good hard look at four players in particular, namely -
*   Reinach; *   De Klerk;*   Thomas du Toit;*   Vincent Koch
You will note that the players concerned are playing in the position of Scrummie and Prop.  So lets em give you an assessment:-
Reinach and De Klerk
The match-up between the two players were interesting since each have their adherents in the general public.   There is one thing clear thing about the two players concerned - Reinach was clearly better than De Klerk in this game.  It is clear why I believe Meyer should have taken Reinach as our main scrummie this year - has gamble on Du Preez is ill-advised and shortsighted.
Koch and Thomas du Toit
Koch in the scrums was all over his opponent in the first half - but in the second half he came up against Thomas du Toit and the next two scrums resulted in a penalty and Tight Head won by the Sharks.  In the case of the Tighthead there was an excuse - the Pumas Hooker was carded and they were down to 7 men in the scrum - but a Tight Head should still not be given away.

I was not really interested in the match - so I watch the performance of the players mentioned in more particular.

"Dr it's the molar that hurts" Dr Klopper replies "can't be Kobus that one fell out remember" Reinach as our main WC scrum half, now that's funny.

Du Preez after managing to average 11 games per year over the last 4 years inclusive of 7 tests - the last ones being 14 months ago and in the main playing on a much lower level of rugby than CC - that is not funny, it is a ridiculous gamble that no othyer coach than Meyer would take.
