I want to put it bluntly - the game played by both teams are just not acceptable from a spectator perspective.   Both teams were equally guilty.  When balls were past around - the handling errors were far too often.   Kicking balls away is nowadays like handing over possession.

Both sides were equally guilty of aimless kicking of balls way too far to be effectively followed up - both refused to pass balls to the wings.   There was not a full backline movement once tonight.   Lambie would kick rather than ignite backline play - Francois Steyn would crashball - in the whole game Jordaan got the ball three times - and on all three occassions he looked dangerous.   But for the rest he migt as wll have been off the field - if it was not foer him to defend.    Pietersen did not get the ball once from a full backline movement.

The Stormers were a bit worse - I think De Villiers did not get the ball three times - and Habana never got it once.   From my perspective it is a load of rubbish that we have been fed- ad that is the end of the story - that is why SA Rugby is really up to maggots - they have forgotten rugby is played by a TEAM comprising 15 PLAYERS.

I cannot understand what went wrong with the Sharks - last year they were playing attractive backline rugby - this year it has gone out of the window in the two games they played thus far.   Any explanation of what went wrong?   I have my own suspicions - but would like to hear your comments in this regard.

In the next round the Sharks are playing the Kings and I hope they start performing better and start playing a more positive game.   I do not expect anything but a loss by the Stormers next week though - hope they manage to get a bonus point though.+

very poor level of skills in backline play.

I think Michalak is being missed alot, especiallu now that Hieneken Meyer has transformed Lambie into Morne Steyn.

I have to agree Mike. The game was interesting to insiders because of all the personal trials all over the park. But as an exhibition of rugby, it was lacking in all imagination. The ball was scarcely run.....and then mostly with little pods of forwards.
