This team looks weaker than the team that played on Tuesday.

Very much a C-team and D-team flavour. The B&I Lions will probably put a hundred points over them.

Kermit Bosch has been demoted, after a poor to an average game earlier in the week. Is it the writing on the wall for him? Still talks of interest from Cape town in his services.

“It’s really about getting the balance right: when to have a go and when not to; when to force it and when not to. Against a quality team like the Lions, you have to be patient.”

Cell C Sharks: 15. Anthony Volmink, 14. Marnus Potgieter, 13. Werner Kok, 12. Murray Koster, 11. Thaakir Abrahams, 10. Lionel Cronje, 9. Jaden Hendrikse, 8. Phepsi Buthelezi (c), 7. Mpilo Gumede, 6. Dylan Richardson, 5. Reniel Hugo, 4. Le Roux Roets, 3. Wiehahn Herbst, 2. Kerron van Vuuren, 1. Nthuthuko Mchunu. Replacements: 16. Dan Jooste, 17. MJ Majola, 18. Khutha Mchunu, 19. Thembelani Bholi, 20. Jeandre Labuschagne, 21. Cameron Wright, 22. Boeta Chamberlain, 23. Jeremy Ward, 24. Lourens Adriaanse, 25. Rynhardt Jonker, 26. Curwin Bosch

Agreed, a really weak Sharks team and they'll probably be up against the Lions test XV. Can't see this even being a contest.

Yes and on top of all that there is the disgrace of Rooitwit disturbing the peace by yelling his daft head off for the wee lions.

One hopes all the other Sharks supporters are not turncoats like poor Rooitwit! ??

Just another mismatch with as much hope as the Charge of the Light Brigade had under Lord Cardigan..."Cannon fodder".

Yep…..It’s likely the Lions will  wear them down, and some of the tries have been opportunistic. But it’s a contest and a damn entertaining one so far.

Evening gents.

Things are looking better for the Sharks tonight and I don't even care if they don't win. Just be physical and compete.

Red for Sharks 9 for a stupid cheap shot...what a pity...it looked like a well balanced contest.

These red cards are an absolute travesty in rugby…..instead of punishing one guy, they punish everybody watching.

The player should be removed from the game, assessed, and be subject to lengthy bans without pay. But after 10 minutes he should be eligible to be replaced.

Silly from Hendrikse.

Richards, Buthelezi and Kok impressing again.

Agree with Moz about the red card.

Well at least we know you can score tries against these Lions if you force them into errors…these Sharks’ tries .remind me of the Kolbe try in the WC final. The  cover defence to use an old term seems a little absent and confused.

We have also learned that Dud Allende running over Biggar was not unusual ….he has been monstered a number of times tonight. There’s one weakness if he is the test flyhalf.

Their pack looks weak too...good line out, but scrums can be a potentially problem.

A lot has been said about the selections of H Watson and Symmonds and their size or lack of it. When the Sharks pack fronted up they seemed able to contain the lions back row in the first half.

I can't see them making the test sides when it's Marx, PSDT, Duane(???) and Eben there to meet them on the gain line.

Missed the live game, but just catching up on the highlights so far.
Lots of missed tackles from both teams that led to tries. Some were the result of good attacking play and running angles, others were just poor tackling technique.

Good to see that the Sharks made a much better account of themselves this match.
However, some of these Lions may have played themselves out of contention for starting position.

I didn't realise the Sharks played Currie Cup on the Saturday before the Wednesday game and so some of those players were playing their 3rd game in 7 days. Fair shakes to them.

I think Davies may have played his way off the bench giving the spot to Price. Symonds and Lawes may also miss out on test selection.

What Gatlands gonna do with the back three though is going to be a nice headache to have.
