I am a bit surprised by the fat that the Sharks tea has as yet not being announced.   I do not foresee much problems in the forward selections.   On average the forwards performed well against the Chiefs.

It is in the bacline that they have problemms.  There are only foiur players really sure of selection and thos are Viljoen, Lambie, McLeod and Lindeque.   The other thre positions are problematic.   Bosman is likely to reamin at 12, since his defence last week was solid abd his ball distibution good.   So that leaves us with positions 11 and 13,   Steyn is the problem case.  Although he was strong in traffic last week - the problem is that he costs the Sharks dearly as a result of poor decisionmaking  His forward pass to Viljoen - with a open tryline in front of the latter - was very poor and he also costs the Sharks a real opportunity to score when he tried to make an inside break by running into traffic while outside of him there was a clear over-lap available.

Plumtree may be tempted to move Lindeque to 13 this week - but then the question remains who would the wings be.   However, we should know what is to happen within the next 16 hours maximum.

The team was announced and is a vast improvement on the one last week.   Mvovo and Pietersen are the wings.  The only player I would have changed is lindeque for Steyn - but I suppose that with Pietersen outside of him - he will be screamed at if he does what he did twice in recent matches and refuse to make passes to players outside of him.

I really think the team as announced will get the better of the Highlanders and am delighted to see Pietersen and Mvovo back in action.

Another pathetic team selection by the clueless Plum. Back comes the useless Franco v/d Merwe, for Bresler who impressed last week. Out goes Deysel, the only bit of real grunt they had in the loosies.

Lindeque gets dropped to the bench after a fine debut and the useless Bosman is retained at 12.

The Sharks will lose again.

The Sharks side should have been:

15. JP 14. Mvovo 13. Lindeque 12. Frans 11. Sithole 10. Lambie 9. McLeod 1. Herbst 2. Cooper 3. Jannie 4. Bresler 5. Steph du Toit 6. Coetzee 7. Deysel 8. Mtembu

I think the team will win with some ease - provided th useless Steyn is replaced early.  If he is at 12 - it would be a fasco for the Sharlks.   I think that Plumtree has got it right this time around.    I think an improvement would be Lindeque at 13 and Steyn on the bench.

By the way - it would only be a loonie bin candidate that would select Sithole ahead of Pietersen

Saffex

You are the supreme idiot around.  Viljoen had a very good game against the Chiefs - as against a rubbshy game by Steyn - so Steyn must be rewarded and Viljoen chucked out.   Loonie-bin material is what you are.

Actually DomMike, Viljoen had a shocking game......his clearance kicks put the Sharks under pressure. Instead of putting some distance on his kicks, he kept the Chiefs in the game you ignorant twat.

Go learn the game instead of boring us with your stupidity.

Steyn should be at 15 - out of the backline and in a position to use his boot, JP at 13 or on the wing with Lindeque at 13.

With the forwards selected it feels like Plumtree is selecting to counter the Highlanders expansive game instead of playing to their strengths and against the Highlanders weakness - the tight game.

Feels like Highlanders win their first game of the year coming off a bye, at home against a Sharks team that is out of sync. But don't take my opinion too highly - I'm in last place on SuperBru - haha !

I rate your opinion Oi. Steyn at 15, his best position. JP on the wing , his best position. Bosman has been solid at 12 and Lindeque was dangerous last week...if he has experience at 13 play him there. Dave is right Viljoen's kicking was the one weakness in the Sharks backline last week.

I thought McLeod made a huge difference.

Dave's side is not to bad. Certainly the forwards are better. Plum has got the loose trio wrong. Personally I do not see such a big difference beteen Franco and Bresler - both are journeyman locks and thats it.

The backline well I have my doubts about JP at 15. Is his boot good enough for starters,

Viljoen was okay at 15 so leave him there. Lindeque and Steyn at center . McLoed  had a very good game last Saturday so he should be fine. Looking forward to see if Frans improves again.

What is the enchantent with Sitole? JP and Movo are best wings the sharkies have.

Riaan Viljoen was good at 15 last week with ball in hand. Yeah, his kicking let him down a bit but in terms of an all round performance, he deserves to keep the 15 jersey for another week at least. Lindeque did look good and Frans was better than previous games. We must ask ourselves how is it that our men out wide (Viljoen and Lindeque) looked good for a change. It is because of the width Bosman adds to the Sharks attack with his passing. He moves the ball around and brings our "strike" runners into play. Steyn plays a lot tighter and thats not what we need right now. I reckon keep on with Bosman at this stage. At least we have started scoring a few tries!

Moz, I think Lindeque is a natural centre. I have never known him to play wing. Mainly 13...

Agree regards leaving Deysel at 7 and Keegan as an impact player. Keegan looked better last week in that role. Use the big boys to soften them up and bring on Keegan to run around in the second half sometime.

McCleod was good too I feel. He had a really good game.

Bosman has been a passenger for the Sharks, the guy is too ordinary to be a playmaker at 12. The notion that its good enough to just be a good passer of the ball is flawed. Bosman has a good pass on him, we just have not seen it in action. At no point has he put players into space with a pass.

The Sharks will not progress if they retain Bosman at 12. Is and always has been a very average player that sells the Sharks short. Frans has to return to 12 with Lindeque playing his usual position at 13.

Frans is not playing at 12 for the simple reason that he rarely passes the ball.

He hogs it like his last lunch.

Bosman is playing better this year than last year where he was terribale. At the Cheetas he was a decent player.

Bosman at least gives the ball some air and can distribute, and this makes the Sharks backline less predictable.

The young Steyn was a playmaker, but in his current incarnation or form he looks to take contact to much.

If a playmaker is defined as someone who creates plays for others, than it cant be debated reasonably that Bosman creates more plays than the greedy Steyn
