Good first scrum for the ABs. Nice run back by Siyaya. If that was Fassi it would have gone straight up in the air.

Missed the first 10 minutes but watching now. Sharks on attack . . . but the maul is held up and scrum ABs.

Sorry I missed the Nonu haka. Sure it'll be on Youtube though.

Basic errors and concentration. I think a full strength sharks team can beat his all black dirt tracker team

Fineangonofu splashes down in the corner for the first try.

5-0 . . . Love converts in-off and it's 7-0.

This is closer to the full strength AB side than the team that played the Stompies. Not sure they can be called dirt-trackers.

Sharks just bundled up a little too much there. The value of going wide when it's on instead of getting bash vision.

Pretty ugly so far and threatening to becoming even uglier.

The Sharks scrum is nowhere near the level the Stormers' was on Friday

Siyaya does well to keep it in but then tries to be too clever and gives it back . . . and DMac is the next to splash down. 14-0.

Hang on . . . DMac did lose it forward and the try is chalked off. Still 7-0.

Ouch, brain implosion and 14 points up. Just watching for the tries. Was hoping the sharks would put up a fight but haven't learned the fundamentals about rugby. Earn the right the play. Can't play from everywhere

I'm in two minds here. Obviously I'd love to see the Sharks pull off an unlikely victory here but in the last game my Superbru prediction was ABs by 17 which was the exact score meaning I'm joint leader (with over 600 others) and I tipped ABs by 11 in this game.

Terrible cross kick by Jordie but somehow Fineangofo gathers and finds DMac at pace and this time it does look like he's scored . . . unless he put a foot out? They're checking . . .

Rooinek
Captain18,494 posts
Rooinek11 Aug 2026, 17:35

Great tackle Moyo! That is so close but he's out. The rugby gods don't want DMac to get a try tonight.

No, nothing clear and obvious so the try will stand.

Love converts and it's 14-0.

Rooinek
Captain18,494 posts
Rooinek11 Aug 2026, 17:38

@Mozart I also thought he was just out before grounding, but the TMO was probably right to defer to the on-field decision. There was no clear and obvious evidence to turn that around.

Still a great tackle by Moyo!

Now they have to check the try again. Fucking hell, watching rugby these days is like watching paint dry. Does anybody enjoy this nitpicking?

Rooinek
Captain18,494 posts
Rooinek11 Aug 2026, 17:36

That was definitely worth a look. Too close to call so they stuck with on-field, but it was definitely worth a check.

Pakie
Captain17,775 posts
Pakie11 Aug 2026, 17:41

@Rooinek doesn't make the constant stopping of play any less frustrating. For me this striving for perfection in every decision is killing the flow of the game. I'm probably too old school.

Rooinek
Captain18,494 posts
Rooinek11 Aug 2026, 17:44

@Pakie Well there was no disruption of flow there, they would have waited for the conversion anyway. I do think in cases like that they might as well take the conversion anyway and save a bit of time.
