Shezza

I went to the Sharks website and there was no indication of who scored the tries and who played well.   The only thing mentioned was that the Sharks scored 8 tries and the Pumas 2.   News 24 just took that report and duplicated the report of the Sharks website.   That is why I took the trouble to go to PMB to see the previous match against the Leopards.

Bad news - the only thing Supersport does is to play match replays constantly and they only showed a few of he warm-up games.   I think that really is hopeless.

For a match report and details of the scorers, go to www.sharksworld.co.za.

In fact this site is the best for any Sharks related news.

Super Pat

Welcome to the Board.  I hope you are a Shark supporter as well.

Thanks for the match report - it really is significant.   Let me add that I have a very high opinion of the two Sharks players who scored two tries each - namely Jordaan and Coetzee.

Insofar as I am concerned I would favour selection of the following Sharks backline:-

 15    -     Ludick

 14    -     Pietersen

 13    -     Jordaan

 12    -     Steyn

 11    -     Mvovo

 10    -     Lambie

   9    -     Reinach

Wonder what the team would actually look like next week?

Your back line is spot on Mke, essentially it chooses itself. Its amongs the forwards where the selections will be interesting, especially amongs the loosies. Will Alberts be fit or are the stories around his chronic shoulder injury true, will Kanko be ready in time as it seems Plumtree is not at all happy with his strength, hence his banishment to the gym for the next week.  Steph Du Toit or Franco? Its going to be interesting for sure.

Super Pat

I am sure about the Props and Hooker (even though I am not a great fan of Burden) - what would be interesting woiuld be the locks and loosies.  The only loosie certainty is Coetzee - the rest could be surprising.   I saw Mtembu playing in Maritzburg and think he may just sneak in.   If Alberts is not available the other choices would be between Kankowski and Deysel - even a half fit Kankowski is better than Deysel - the best description of the latter is from a rugby player perspetive is that he is a DONKEY. Hope Alberts is fit though - that would help.   Daniel is really a bad loss.

Now for the locks and I really do not know what would happen.   I hope Du Toit makes it  -I have high hopes that he could end up as Etzebeth's lock partner in the Springbok team

Mike,

As a Natal rugby fan you may also be pleased to know that College Rovers started the defence of their National Club Champions title with a 38 -17 victory over Despatch.

Hallo, I am from the Eastern Cape.  I like the Sharks nearly as much as the Kings.  The Sharks are the ones to watch this season.  They showed in the warmup matches they mean business.  Shame, Antie Mavis and I had a fight because of the Kings but I still think they will have to play a season or two to get the hang of things in the big leauge nê.

Ga Sharkies Go!

Thanks Mike!  I am not so clever with technology but I know my rugby shit.  I been reading here and there on this listing and there are are some really cool people around.

We can look at the Kings and debate all night long the merits of them being in the competition but it is not the fault of the players, they didnt make the decisions, SARU did.  The players did not select the Watson clan, they were forced on the players.  In some cases rugby players are like whores, they just PLAY for money but any trick will do.

I think the Kings will struggle this year but by end season they will have played many games and will win the Lions in the relegation game and next year they will be much better.  But already people are judging them because of what SARU does - unfair nê my broer!
