i wonder if the wheels are starting to come of for the stormers. their inability to attack is well documented and to day they paid the price for a seaon of defense first mentality when the sharks emphatically gave them a big "get the fudge out of here".
whats even crazier is that aplons last try was a reffing error (& not deliberate so save the conspiracy theories) and their first try was only cos of sharks handaling error and aplon being in the right place at the right time. while the sharks worked well as a team to get their trys and finding hole in the stormers usually impentrable line.
this game answered a lot of questions about wether the stormers could dig deep when not controlling the game like they usually do, and the answer is no.
i always thought the stormers were wasting their backline, but u dont fix whats not broken, just hope they can see that defense first isnt all that its cracked up to be
sharks frontrow got the better of the stormers front row, showing them exactly why theyve been Boks the last few years. especially beast and his samson like strength and bizzys mind games on liebenberg and ezebeth, classic.
not one of JDVs better games either, he was at fault for the first try, running up in the line to defend against the air??? i mean there was no one around him. and when stormers needed to hold on to the ball in the dying stages, he knocked the ball on. his performance was a reflection of the stormers performance as a whole.
real winners on the day, the chiefs who now sit back on top of the combined conference.
