Just take a look at the following team selected by Fleck for the game on Saturday:-
15 Dillyn Leyds, 14 JJ Engelbrecht, 13 EW Viljoen, 12 Damian De Allende, 11 Raymond Rhule, 10 Damian Willemse, 9 Dewaldt Duvenage, 8 Nizaam Carr, 7 Pieter-Steph du Toit, 6 Siya Kolisi (captain), 5 Chris van Zyl, 4 Jan de Klerk, 3 Wilco Louw, 2 Ramone Samuels, 1 Steven Kitshoff
Substitutes: 16 Dean Muir, 17 JC Janse van Rensburg, 18 Carlu Sadie, 19 Salmaan Moerat, 20 Cobus Wiese, 21 Sikhumbuzo Notshe, 22 Justin Phillips, 23 Craig Barry (Stormers debut)
The above team has some serious deficiencies - some of which could have been avoided:-
* Lleyds is poor under high balls and share the distinction with Rhule as totally incapable of defending;
* The scrummie is an habitual kicker of poor quality balls;
* This must be the worst loosies insofar as ball protection and recovery is concerned, Kolisis and Carr do not know what the term means since they are never involved in that component of the game - Du Toit cannot do it on his own,
Lets face facts - Kolisi is at least trying to be a loosie - but he is a quota player and I could live with him at 6. If Rassie wants to see Du Toit as a loosie, why not pick him at 8 and select Wiese or Van Dyk at 7. Bot were outstanding at 7 and was the SanZaar team of the week two weeks running in the 7 position.
Carr had a good year in 2014 and has since been playing on reputation - matter of fact heshould not be anywhere near the team as he is not competitive loosie at all anymore. He had shockers in both the past two weekend games.
