Not sure if something happened off cam, but as far as I can see he didn't do a thing to milk that Mostert hit. No play-acting, no appealing, he just got on with it. Good on him. Seeing a high profile player like Pablo Matera last week grabbing his head in feigned injury as a Welsh player aimed a kick at him that missed by a mile makes you appreciate players with integrity like Garbisi even more.
Shout out to Paolo Garbisi, recipient of the Mostert hit
. . . and while we're at it, a shout out to the ref for the way he handled the Wilco Louw incident.
He overrode the TMOs with some authority, knowing he was right.
Good on him. We're all so quick to jump on these poor guys and blame them for everything that goes wrong but credit where it's due.
Agree, man/woman with the whistle needs to be respected but also needs the courage to override TMO if needed. I have no time for the TMO's who have all the tec, time & no crowd pressure and still make so many kak decisions.
Fair enough, I was happy with that, but I'll need to cool off quite a bit on the officials yet, the whole bunch of them. They muddled the game to where even the commentators started joking about it. The contrast between how the Eng/AB game was refereed vs the Bok/Ita game couldn't be more stark.
