We need to beef up the pack We know Kitshoff, Marx and Malherbe are our best 3 so we need to back them and start them. Physical liabilities like Mostert and Kwagga must go So given the squad, the side should be: 15. Willie 14. Mapimpi 13. Am 12. de Allende 11. Kolbe 10. Pollard 9. Faf 1. Kitshoff 2. Marx 3. Malherbe 4. Etzebeth 5. Lood 6. Kolisi 7. PSDT 8. Wiese 16. Mbonambi 17. Nche 18. Nyakane 19. v Rensburg 20. Kwagga 21. Jantjies 22. Willemse 23. Jessie Kriel

Malherbe is out of shape and gave away too many scrum penalties. Use Koch or Louw instead

Start Nyakane and have Wilco Louw on the bench if Malherbe is not ready

I think Wiese is the biggest improvement the Boks can make to their pack. He is physical and a specialist number 8. He is much more physical than Kwagga.
Kwagga was solid in the 1st half, but totally fell apart in the 2nd half.

I would rather start with the same frontrow, then replace them one by one during the 2nd half.
It might disruptive to replace 3 players at once by switching the whole front row. Something was totally different right from the start of the 2nd half.

Given Malherbe's performance perhaps he should be dropped for Koch. He takes time to get match fit given his physique, and so far he is not match fit.

Kitshoff has not set the world alight with any of his appearances so far this year. However, he could be ready for the 2nd test. Maybe Thomas DuToit would be a better option as loosehead.

Disagree Kitshoff has been very good this year and I’d rather see Wilco Louw than Koch. Louw is far more dominant in the scrums and has been on fire

It’s really rather remarkable…..Kitshoff, Malherbe and Lomp were useless on Saturday. Wiese was a non entity for the As . But now they are must haves for the next test.

Funny how the quota front row stood their ground far better than the replacements on Saturday. In fact they dominated the scrum set piece.

We all know that Marx is a class act.

Malherbe has never been test material. He's just a blob that waddles from set piece to set piece. Even Kitshoff found himself on the backfoot.

Rather keep the quotas and replace short-shit Bongi with Marx .. and bring Akker onto the bench.

Chippo,  CC is just throwing sh!t at the Bokke, like usual. It doesn't have to make a lot of sense...he's just venting.

CC knows fuck all about rugby Like someone saying Wiese was a non entity for the A side which is complete rubbish He was physical and very active when he came on - a vast improvement on Kwagga on the day

Hey ! Skape and Naysayers...don't forget the Fat Lady (she has not finished her song yet) and old Murphy who is always lurking around the corner, we all know he has a remarkable ability to turn up and spoil things when he's least expected. Seen it too often to discard him...especially when the forum "expert" is involved.

This could be fun and worth waiting for.

The removal of Mostert from the team  is fully justified.   he was not physical enough again and again.

Who is there to replace him?...and DdA and PSDT for that matter...seeing as they're all so kak, who should be in the real match 23?

Honestly I do not think any of the white props deserve a second shot at the BL's.

Kitsoff, Malherbe, Koch and du Toit are either out of test condition or to be honest not up to test rugby.

Perhaps the long lay-off of top class contests is an issue but honestly they are not up to it.

The starting front row was more than able to deal with the BL's at scrums but after breaking up the starting combo it appears that they SA front row lost the edge.

Mark's is a shadow of the player that we all knew and respected.

Sadly, I would not be surprised if the BL's pull off a series win with the current form of numerous other players in the Bok squad.

Hope I am wrong.

AJH stop speaking utter horse shit Those props won us the RC, WC and took us from 7 to 1 and suddenly in your ignorant eyes they are not up to test rugby In form Kitshoff is the best loosehead in the game I’d rank Malherbe behind Furlong as the best 3 in game

Shortly after Kitshoff came on….

50'And now England turn the tables! They absolutely destroy the South Africa scrum and earn a penalty of their own! The biter has been bit, and have England worked out what South Africa have been doing throughout this match? If so, we have a real contest on our hand

Ah and what happened in every scrum thereafter huh? You are weak Moz - up your game We all know that the Bomb squad came on and inflicted even more pain to the England scrum for the rest of the match Kitshoff was huge

That’s a lie - the reserves dominated the scrums just as much as the starters Kitshoff is the best loosehead in the game. Huge scrummager and great all round game
