CJ Stander suspended for one match13 June 2016, 21:09

Ireland loose forward, CJ Stander, received a red card during the first test of the Castle Lager Incoming Series between South Africa and Ireland on Saturday, 11 June at DHL Newlands in Cape Town.

The matter was heard by the Judicial Officer Terry Willis of Australia on Sunday 12 and Monday 13 June.

After hearing the evidence and submissions made by Gerrie Swart, representative of the player, the Judicial Officer was not satisfied on the balance of probability that the referee, Mathieu Raynal of France, was wrong when he issued the red card to the player.

As a result, the player was suspended for one match and will miss the second test of the Castle Lager Incoming Series between Ireland and South Africa, scheduled for Saturday 18 June at Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg; whereafter he is free to play again.

Lambie is always getting knocked out these days- along with Cheslin Kolbe.

So Lambie is confirmed to miss the 3rd test. Another serious concussion.
Meanwhile,  "Irish" CJ Stander will return for the third test.

NO snide remarrks about Lambie please sharkbok. CJ was very reckless and lambie is lucky to be alive. Lets not make light of such incidents ala kbbs when dealing with the indiscretions of Nonu. Incidently, we have appear to have another Nonu type in Naholo - very dirty player as well.

SB - There is no indication that Lambie would not be available for the first test.   I hope he is - I am jittery about seeing the sub-standard Jantjies in tests after his negative contribution in the last two tests.

CM- Lambie has been ruled out of the third test. His concussion has not cleared- which means he is not allowed to be selected.

Pity ... a much better 10.
At least we'll see what CJ Stander can do.
Look forward to it.
Must say I'm rather keen to see the quota coache's starting 15.

I would genuinely support taking out CJ Stander to reciprocate what he has done to Lambie.
Late tackles, high tackles, the works. If he is stuck at the bottom of a ruck, stand on him. Maybe bring back Bismaark Duplessis to deal with him in the World Cup match later in the year.

What has happened to Lambie is obviously terrible, but I have seen a thousand more sinister tackles before with heavier contact where the player walks away unharmed. Stander went up for the charge down, he was still in the air when he hit Lambie, for me it was probably reckless or a bit of a brain fart, but nothing more. The two just made contact in a very unfortunate way for Lambie. Lambie was just very very unlucky. Had he not been unlucky and gotten injured, the incident would have been a non event and would have been completely forgotten about. I really don't think Stander deserves all the hate he has received for that incident.

yes ... and beside ... Lambie had a few concussions prior to the collision with Standers ...

I'm not sure if returning to the field a little later would have helped ... but he's always been a little fragile.

Stander is not a dirty player ...
