....and I'm not being facetious. The man has had an awful Super season so far. And his history in tests is spotty, strong games against weaker competition....weak performances against the top teams.
He is on the small side for a test flank, players his size are usually fetchers. He isn't. Nor is he a strong defender....his best attribute is open field ball carrying. That leaves a lot of bases uncovered.
I suppose there is some hope when he pulls on the Bok jumper Clark Kent gets transformed into the Black Panther....but is that our only strategy now.....hope?
For all the praise being lavished on Erasmus Head his vast squad is filled with obvious choices, many of whom should have been discarded for others who at least haven't yet proven they aren't test class.
The neat touch of having a POC in every position is also so obvious. A political animal in mid season form.

I have been following kolisi from under 21 for wp and he has Always been an attacking flanker, but I ask myself this question. Is he the best or one of the best in the world, NO. You have Sam Kane, Ardie Savea, hooper, Pocock, Kremer who will all mop the floor with him.
Unfortunately our loose forward stocks has been depleted due to political choices. At first it started on the wings where we could at least use some speed. Gone are the days of having an1.94 cm wing competing against the likes of Savea and Naholo.
The next phase was to target the back row, now we are stuck we loose forwards that are barely 180 cm or over a 100 kg.
We use to have guys like Andre Venter who was a true work horse, AJ Venter, Ruben Kruger. We always had good loosies.
So if you take the backn3 and your loose forwards, that is already 6. Not to mention the props and hookers. Rugby is a size game unfortunately.
There is room for the odd small guy in the team but not 6.
So when our coaches that other teams are getting bigger, what they are try to say is because of quotas, our players are smaller and therefore we will have to play "expansive".
We can easily put a world beating team together but unfortunately our African brothers simply don't have the size to compete.

Corn I believe the team could have a second tier player, who is a great leader. Whiteley fits that description, although he can be brilliant near the opposition try line.
But what indication do we really have that Kolisi is an 'inspirational' leader as we are being told. Has he rallied his Stormer troups in close games...changed tactics on the fly?
I see nothing to suggest he is an extraordinary captain, a real leader of men. When you look at his dodgy form and how on Saturday the Stormers played better, sans captain and sans Rhule the whole thing just adds to the general feeling of Bok rugby being screwed.
