The weekend saw some awesome performances from a few players in the SA franchises.Solid showings by Reiniach and De Villiers spring to mind. The stand out performance for me though has to be that of Siya "the colossus" Kolisi.
He was stellar on defense and it seemed every time he tackled a sharks player he took them backwards, also he was all over the field showing that he is a true workhorse in the stormers setup. I also noticed that he seems to becoming somewhat of a leader in the pack. This was evident when he was always the one pumping up the forwards after a solid scrum or strong turnover, this is promising to see given that he is young and has such a long career ahead of him. He may not have been flashy or turned over many balls but these aren't the only factors to consider when evaluating a players performance. Especially on a day when no loonies really put their hands up and stood out above the rest.
