Skillful Youngsters in South Africa

We were being cleaned up ... again ... in fact, it looked as though we were in for a hiding ... and then ... a few young talented players came on and blew the Irish away.
Talented youngsters ... on form youngster ... with skill sets in tact ... playing with passion, with fire and with the right attitude. 
What a massif difference they made. I was suddenly proud of the Bok again.
My point is that we have loads of skilled youngsters out there ... with skills they've acquired over the years ... their very own unique set of skills ... taught to them by parents, grandparents, teachers and coaches they've met along the way.
They aren't mindlessly blundering ahead as some believe. 
They have what it takes to set the world alight and if tapped properly will make us proud ... once again.
Redelinghuys, Combrinck, Whiteley and Mostert made an immediate difference when they came on. It was wonderful to see how their presence lifted the rest of the team. 
F0k ... I even found myself screaming for the Boks the last 40 minutes ... or was it the Lions ... not sure.
I hope Coetzee has woken from his deep racist slumber.  
I think when the crowd jeered the Boks at half time that that was message enough to stop the sh!t. 
We're not asking for a lily white team ... we are however insisting on merit selections ... on winning rugby ... being able to hold our heads up high.
That's not too much to ask ... is it?
Now to drag a few more boys in (Marx, Dylan Smith, Kriel, Kirsten, Venter, Vorster, Brink, Thomas Du Toit, Snyman and a host of others) ... get rid of the chuff (Scarra, Mbonambi, Nyakane, Kolisi, Malherbe, Lood, Louw, Paige, Kriel and a host of others) ... and work toward the coming WC.
I have lot's of hope suddenly ... I just hope it's not unfounded ...

 We don't swim along but I'll give you credit for believing all along that there is untapped talent available. Won't agree about Coetzee being racist though, he has a mandatory quota as laid down in the  ANC racist policy.

 Yes, that's true ... he did however sign on the dotted line in support of their racist policies. 
If he were against it, he would not have made himself available.
Pretty obvious actually.

 Problem is that Coetzee brought in four payers as quota selections who are really useless and not test material - namely Mapoe, Jantjies, Mvovo and Kolisi.   He will not get rid of those four - come hell or high water.   So the team will always have liabilities and serious ones at that.

 It doesn't matter that he did, whoever it was that signed be it a white, black or foreign coach, it was a deal carved in stone by the Minister of Sport with the A-OK from SARU. The deal in my opinion was motivated to win more votes in an election year. Ackerman, if and when he signs up would be in the same boat. The next few weeks will be interesting with regards to who Coetzee drops(see my below post).

CC to add to you list of players I would scrap JP and Mvovo and start with Combrink and Sergeal Peterson. They are by some.distajce our best wingers right now. I hope Meyer watched last night and saw what the players he refused to pick did. I hope it occured to him how these guys may have saved his career. Come to think of it, Alistair owes them big time. The only possible solution is for him to start those guys next week. Anything else will be seen as very silly.

I really rate Sergeal Petersen  He's deceptively strong and has pace to burn. 
I also like Jamba Ulengo from the Bulls. A little exposure at test level could produce a dynamic world beater. 
I certainly hope Coetzee selects a better starting 15. 

Dave and I have been warning that Louw and Vermeulen was useless this year playing for their clubs and that they were dubious selections.   Aside from those two I am still very dubious about Jantjies - name me one positive thing he did yesterday.  There were way more negative than positives.   I hope they bring back Lambie at flyhalf and play the loosie combination of Kriel, Whiteley and because of quota picks Kolisi - although he was useless as well.   I would much rather prefer a functioning loosie.  Insofar as the centers are concerned - I would prefer a combination of Venter and De Allende - Mapoe went AWOL in the last two tests and he is definitely a below par selection as well.  Combrinck was my pick at wing all along.  I would even replace the slow and pedantic Pietersen - but am not sure about Sergeal Petersen under high balls and about his defense.  To my mind it is a close call between Petersen and Rhule for that replacement and even Ismaiel and Ulengo could even be better options.   The other option would be to move one of the present no 13 Supe r Rugby centers to wing - ie Mapoe or Jordaan.       

 It was wonderful to see how their presence lifted the rest of the team.

Indeed, wonderful to see how players who were prone to blunder for one game and a half suddenly turned out more committed and focused.

During these two test matches, SA players made mistakes that cant be explained by a supposed lack of skill of some of their partners.
Just like the introduction of some other partners can not explain the sudden disappearance of the mistakes.

Once again, the way the SA team celebrated after the victory told tons.

 Quite unusual to call the behaviour shown by SA players a conspiracy.

One point iis that even when calling that behaviour a 'conspiracy', it has little to do with conspiracy theory, which is a different concept. Even though today, as expected from excellent men, it is more and more commonly used to deny the existence of conspiracies.

If the road is taken to call that behaviour a 'conspiracy', it follows the world of pro sports is full of 'conspiracies'.

Clubs 'conspire' for every thing. They 'conspire' to beat each other, they 'conspire' to poach their respective talent etc
The level of 'conspiracy' is so high that actually tournament organizors fight it.
For example, during the group stage of an international tournament, it is common that the  last matches  are played on the same day at the same hour. It is not a good business decision but it prevents teams from 'conspiring' to produce the results they need to go through and eliminate an opponent.
It was different in the past, but when it grew too obvious that teams could be agreed on a result and actually did, organizers decided that some money should be left on the side of the road to protect the integrity of the competition.

'Conspiracies' in sports are everywhere and the one in question, that is players letting their coach down is common. Sport amateurs know of it and coaches are asked questions about it whenever they face the situation. On this point, never heard a single time a journalist using the word conspiracy and no coach weaseling out by calling the journalist a conspiracy theorist for bringing up the situation. Apparently, they still wish for credit and avoid using non sequiturs of this kind.

The 'conspiracy' led by SA players is different though in that it happened from the first game Coetze was in charge of.

Usually, the professional attitude expected from players is to work with the coach they are given. After a series of matches, if the coach does not prove himself, they might commit into this kind of behaviour.

The SA players, though, showed that attitude from the beginning and it disappeared when Coetze folded down by removing the unwanted players from the field.
