Am I smelling the roses or has Smal's appointment as Director of Rugby had a very postive impact on WP - Stormers Rugby? Looks like they will have a strong team next year in Super 15 as well - that is if injuries does not destroy their chances again.
The team could look something like the following:-
15 Taute, 14 Van Wyk, 13 De Allnde, 12 De Villiers(?), 11 Senatla, 10 Catrakillis, 9 Groom, 8 Vermeulen, 7 Elstadt, 6 Carr, 5 Botha, 4 Etzebeth, 3 Malherbe, 2 Ntsubene 1 Kitshof
16 Coetzee, 17 Cilliers, 18 Harris, 19 Rhodes, 20 Kolisi, 21 Schreuder, 22 Coleman, 23 Kolbe
I am not sure whether De Villiers will still play next year. If he decides not to - then De Allende will move into the 12 position. The issue is what to do with De Jongh. His questionable defense (the worst defending center in any SA Super 15 outfit over the past two seasons) is a huge problem and he does not really have the ability to make line breaks himself and beat defenders - only a good finisher if somebody else puts him into space. For Super 15 I think Howard would be a better bet at 13 for the Stormers.
I think Kolbe will be a good impact player - hence my believe he should be on the bench.
WP can still contract other players. I wish they try to get Van der Walt - the flyhalf of the Lions - he really will be a good buy. I still am not sold on Catrakillis and Coleman as flyhalfs. Another option at 10 would be Du Preez - he is better than the other 2. They could also think of Small-Smith as a 13 and try to contract him - he is very good.
