This guy is swatting at an opponent’s arm while another oppo is dividing over for a try right at his feet. How the blue blazes can anybody rate this perfectly ordinary lock.

Nonsense he is an ordinary, old, provincial level lock. Just another one of your big picks who went nowhere Dave. I tried to warn you…but no, Schickerling is this gold nugget Rasmus hasn’t got right.

Moz you have clearly not watched any of his games this season so stop speaking shit or commenting on players you have not even watched For if you had actually seen him play for the Stormers this season then this kind of ignorant bullshit would not be coming from you - well actually it probably would JD has been very good for the Stormers this season including the game on the weekend despite the poor showing of the majority of his team mates The only Stormers players emerging with some credibility this weekend were Gelant, Zas, de Wet, JD, Ruben v Heerden and BJ Dixon

The commentators were talking up Gelant faster than he was missing tackles. Not one of those players is going to be a Bok regular. They are provincial level.

Moz if JD is only Provincial level, what would you call Moerat? And just because of 1 mistake he made it does not define him. I read thru some of the comments and it’s alarming how quick good Rugby players become “ Shit “ just because of a few mistakes on this Forum. Most of the Springbok incumbents has made stupid dumb mistakes in there careers. But it sure as hell did not define them. Also BJ Dixon where I can clearly remember you guys being happy with his performance in the beginning. But then after one or two Quiet games he is shit?? Nah guys giving up so quick on players, is just ridiculous ! Same counts for Jordan that he must be kept away from the Boks, is nonsense. Total irrational behaviour to be honest.

Yep it’s pathetic how quickly these clowns turn on players Schickerling has always been good and is now even better Jordan Hendrikse is a class act BJ Dixon is a great looking prospect as PSDT’s back up Roos is suddenly shit now to Jurenzo Julius apparently looks average - fuck me could we get more rugby ignorant than that? Manie is super shit It’s all a fucking joke

Same counts for Jordan that he must be kept away from the Boks, is nonsense.

Here's context speaking for me personally: I don't watch a lot of provincial rugby. I don't have the time. So I call things on a game to game basis when I do get the time to watch.

Jordan was terrible on Saturday. Not just one or two incidents, constant throughout the game. He dropped balls in contact, made numerous defensive errors from positioning to missed tackles. He looked like a complete amateur, not someone who should be anywhere near a Bok side. That's what I call.

I've seen little of Julius. He was hopeless on Saturday, could barely make a tackle. That's what I call.

Or should I sit there watching a game saying "gee that player is something special isn't he?" after he'd just been brushed off like a little kid? What's the point?

Also BJ Dixon where I can clearly remember you guys being happy with his performance in the beginning. But then after one or two Quiet games he is shit??

Comparing Louw's last two test performances against Dixon's - Louw looks at home, Dixon looks lost. That may change, but in my experience, great test players usually look at home right away. Some terrific provincial players just never make the step up to test rugby. Simple fact, nothing to get too emotional about. Dixon may still come good. We'll see. Right now Louw looks by far the stronger candidate.

0.30 Gelant fails to take the high ball
2.24 Gelant fails again to take a simple high ball
5.59 Fails to hold on tackling Ed 9
28.36  2 metres out Gelant drops it on the toe in a clear try scoring position….very poor decision says Jean. Snickering loses the ball in the next phase.. Nel finally scores by going to the line.
35.40 Gelant totally misses his man with a simple offload.
38.16 Gelant gets the ball with Ed in disarray goes outside the lock marking him….all he needs to do is run and pass….but he decides to kick, which effectively cuts off his wing. Another try opportunity botched.
That’s two high balls missed, one tackle missed and two try chances blown with silly kicks.
You mean that kind of excellent?

I’d call Moerat a provincial level lock. Which isn’t terrible, but not one of those guys except perhaps van Heerden looks to me like a possible Bok regular. We anointed Roos, he was the next coming. It didn’t work….move him from provincial rugby to test rugby and he becomes ordinary.

Pakie your take on all those players is utter shit but that is expected from a clown passing judgement on players having hardly watched any rugby Moz why not try include all the good Gelant did in that game Let me guess those commentators constantly singing his praises know fuck all about what they are talking about much like myself of course who saw it exactly as they did Instead we should bow to your usual ignorant bullshit Gelant had a good game did more good than bad - it was not without mistakes but fuck me one would swear players don’t make mistakes

I don't thibk Roos is a test level 8. I instead see him as a good replacement for PSDT. He's more mobile and stronger, with much better ball sense. Also hits like a truck. He's a guy you'd wanna give a license too, and would terrify oppo 10s of you allowed him to target them. I've never thought his best position is at 8.

Well that just shows how little you know Why the fuck would you want possibly our most gifted 8 wasted at 7 bashing it up He has shown all the attributes of the perfectly rounded 8 He is big and physical, has good pace, good hands, runs great lines - the perfect 8 Better skills than Elrigh Louw and Wiese who rely mostly on power, which of course works Roos and Hanekom are our best all round prospects at 8, followed by Horn and Emmanuel Tsituka Fuck me not that long ago you wanted Roos at 12 and now you see him at a 7 - that is absurd. Blindside requires the least skill of the 3 looseforward positions and you see Roos as a 7 after wanting him at 12 You make as much sense as priest in a porn movie

Well Pakie you admit that you don’t watch the guy that often and yes his performance this WE is one that he will want to forget. I see potential in him because of the games where he was performing very well as a attacking Flyhalf. His kicking game was also up to standard and just like Sacha, he is a Flyhalf that defend strongly. So it’s unfair if you define/ judge him by this one game. And Let’s face it Pakie we all get emotional on here:) Ben did have quiet games where he might of looked a bit out of place. But like I said before that some of our incumbents sometimes still have those bad days. Pollard,s performance in the second Irish test is a example of this. He was poor and on here described as a has been, that is finished. But since then, he had good games again. Moz I personally think that wasn’t it that JD broke his neck, he would of been in springbok contention long ago. He is a good line out option, above average ball carrier and defender. If he will reach that level again like before his injury, we will have to wait and see.

Plum,s idea of playing Roos at 7 is not bad at all. He is more than capable because of his skill set. And Pakie with his analytical approach is refreshing and accurate. Definitely Competent. Especially with the pictures of different situations in a game that is being discussed, is very helpful in understanding that discussion.

Only a fool would want to play Roos at 7, yes he has the skill set but who would be stupid enough to waste the rest of his skill set that is best suited to 8 and the least suited to 7?

The way I see it you can accommodate both Roos and Hanekom in the starting team. I have mentioned it before, but I would like to see 6 Roos 7 Elrigh and 8 Hanekom. I don’t know if Elrigh has played 6 before, but Roos has for the stormers, and was not to bad.

I have no issue with Pakie in general but telling us Hendrikse and Julius look ordinary based on one game having not watched much else is fucking frustrating If you can’t formulate an opinion based on the whole and not just a small percentage then rather shut the fuck up It’s like me listening to one song on an album and concluding it’s a great album

That makes no sense as Hanekom is the smallest of the 3 and the one that turns over ball more than the other two, so the obvious call would be 6. Hanekom 7. Louw and 8. Roos
