….but here are the facts. Etzebeth and Mostert did the only two exceptional things on attack yesterday and were directly responsible for our two tries. Etzebeth’s sense of the opportunity and offload created the try. Mostert’s strength in getting to the line makes a joke of his ‘pap’ image.
But he lost one lineout. Yes, always the banker at 4 Eben allowed the Irish jumper to get ahead of him and the throw was a bit low. Look at the footage and you’ll see Etzebeth was a head higher than the Opponent.
But here’s the thing. Who was our top defender? Etzebeth by a mile….he made 16 tackles and missed none. Mostert who made 10 and missed 1 was next best.
The players who never really contributed were Wiese and Kolisi. Marx was passive and Dud Toit had a decent first 20 after which he was totally anonymous.
Why are these things so hard to see?
