Rassie has to make THE most important selection call of the WC, if he gets it right with all due respect to the rejuvenated ABs the Boks will win. It requires 7-8 changes to the starting lineup for the energy levels to have an impact. The Deadend centre pairing and Wilie shouldn't be in the match 23, Williams and Faf as scrummies, Libbock to start and Pollard on the bench. Most of the changes should be in the forwards. Vermeulen to start with Wiese on the bench. Let's not forget there's safety in Pollard as Flyhalf or as inside centre. Mostert and Bongi on the bench.

The floor is yours Rassie.

Bongi can’t be on the bench as Fourie will compromise our scrum given his lack of size Bongi has to play the whole game as he did against England Tough ask but that is the product of not having another test standard hooker in the squad One has to ask what was the point in Hendrikse being in the squad in the first place - surely Pollard in his place from the start would have been obvious Then we could have brought a hooker in for Marx and Am in for Mapimpi

4 Scrumhalves was a retarded decision.

Yes, the injured Pollard should have been included in the squad because it was clear his recovery was almost completed- instead of the 4th scrumhalf.
Then when Mapimpi was injured, the Boks could have called up a specialist hooker.
Rassie has made mistakes, but he has got us to the final despite this. Sure close games, but that is what a winning team is.

Dave I can only assume that Hendricks was in the squad to meet the ANC sport policy with respect to Springbok rugby.

But in short the original squad selected had many questions that still have not be answered.

Agree about the hooker for the final Bongi will have to play the full game.

A bit harsh but I agree.

That makes no sense AJ as players that should have been in the squad ahead of Hendrikse are Am and Dweba - not very white

Bongi needs reminding to zip it & at least be more eloquent if he can't.

Use Marx as a role model ............... altyd tjoep stil. What a loss.

If we hadn’t lost Marx we wouldn’t have had Pollock to win the Pom test …the rugby  gods work in strange ways.

When the squad was selected Nienaaber was saying that Pollard was almost good to go. I believe the plan was for one of the scrummies to magically be injured and for Pollard to replace him. That is, unless we really thought we needed 4 x 9s...which is absolutely crazy. I also think that they were intending to use the exact same 9-15 that we played in the previous final. I thought we were going to lose the French test. 60 minutes into the English test I couldn't see a way back. So who know's what'll happen this weekend? I don't.

"If we hadn’t lost Marx we wouldn’t have had Pollock to win the Pom test"

I'm pretty sure we would have won tests against the Poms because of Pollock but his first name would have been Peter, Graeme or Shaun . . . and it would have been a cricket test, not a rugby one.

A few individuals got us here. That's been the formula of the Erasputin era, individuals who are less favoured saving the day. Erasputin has been nothing but a millstone around the team's neck.
