So Jake beats the Lions....can there be any doubt left?
Agree Moz - see post on Brumbies game started by Redsman. Jake is a star. Has the abilty also to inspire
The mind boogles, it truly does.
Yes that's right, Jake White made Rory Best throw in squint numerous times !!! Which denied the scratch Lions side a major source of possesion when it counted and he also made the Lions Forwards play poorly until players like Parling, Cole, Corbisiero etc came on and steadied the ship. He also made Hogg have a very poor game at 10, that also improved once Farrell came on at 10. Alas, it was all too late by then, the Subs should have come on at least 10 minutes sooner and the game would have been won.
Most of the Brumbies very good play and commitment did not cause the Lions very poor play and mistakes, no matter what you like to think, Mozart. Are those Jake White rose tinted spectacles you wear ? Does he have a line of those that he markets ? I'm sure of few of the groupies on here would be purchasing some from him if he did : -)
But, of course, I'm sure the great Jake would have worked his magic some how regardless of the opposition, wouldn't he ? What a man.
That Lions team was always going to lose this fixture. A decent Brumbies side should have put on a lot more points than that.
Congratulations to The Brumbies the best team won. Very disappointed with the Lions front row and the rest of the team. Best was dire, really an abysmal performance by The Lions but all credit goes to The Brumbies I was very confident they would win when I nsaw the side Gatland was putting out.
Good afternoon ladies.
Now I am really shocked. Are you telling me you expected a team full of internationals to lose to a Super 15 side without 5 of its best players!
I mean how weak is rugby in the UK and Ireland?
"Becs I'm not even going to respond to that bitter little hissyfit."
No? Ummmm . . . you just did, stupidissimo!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha!
It appears the ladies are saying internatioal rugby up their way is not Super 15 standard? Surprising admission. However maybe so.
Would the Reds at full stength have beaten Lions? How about the Warts.
That first string Lions side better be way better?
Anyhow good luck Lady MO(NH) for the juniour match this evening. Better luck of course to Baby Boks!
Fancy your chances Becs against nz?
Rooitwit he didnt respond to the comments - sigghhh
Hey rooitwit who are you supporting this evening Baby Boks or Wales?
Blikkies thats all we need!
By the way Becs did you see how Jake schooled Sir Grham and Sir John when theBrumbies beat the blues. He was just tacticaly so much better.
Fast forward to RWC 2015.
Aus (Jake White) versus Springboks (Heyneke Meyer).
Hier kom 'n ding ... run for cover.
Rewind to April 2013.
Brumbies (Joke White) can only draw with the Southern Kings . . . at home . . . at odds of 1-47!
Dit was 'n ding! Hahahahaha!
rooitwit what criteria did you use when wanting Luke before Schalk - man we are talking Schalkie in his prime!! Which knee jerked first?
What everyone fail to mention.
The mad Lions back line. Hogg’s second match at fly half, Barritt at 13, Wade only just capped by England, Kearney just back from injury and then Shane stopping by for a run out before he goes on to commentate next weekend.
Achievement look not that great after all
Not a bad Brumbies team either
How many internationals in the Lions side and how many in the Brumbies?
The Lions represent the cream of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England. 4 test Unions of note. Their second string should not be weak.
Beeno you know as well as I do its not about how many internationals but how long they have been playing together. Hence why All Star Ba Baa teams still struggle to beat teams as throwing 15 talented players together and let them play days later is not a good idea as there won't be much team play. Just individuals trying their own thing.
Oh Jake did well against the Kings with his Brumbies team at home...............
The Brumbies victory started in the forwards, mostly in the lineout but also at the ruck and maul. There weren't any last minute replacements in the Lions forwards so the whole "disrupted team" excuse is a bit lame. Brumbies also had a disrupted team with the Wallabies they were missing.
Agreed on the point that if the Lions replacements had been on the field 10 minutes earlier they would have probably won, but that isn't what happened. A Lions team full of NH international representatives was beaten by an Aussie regional team with one hasbeen international and another with only a couple caps because of a good game plan and some very committed rugger.
How Best wasn't subbed at halftime was beyond me. Must say that Best showed a lot of character in his postgame interview - clearly humble and giving credit where it was due. Lots of respect in my book
Oimatey quite right. The Lions have some thing like 550 test caps in their side. Brumbies have 5 players in the wallaby squad plus injured players - I think about 5 were mentioned including George Smith and Pocock. So its a pretty scratch Brumbies side.
Either its a great effort or Lions second string very weak.
Its rugby. Shit happens. A stronger Brumbies team could not even beat the Kings
