Nonu, who you dismissed and  Habana, who you said was in terrible form.  Explain.

Not too intrude on the discussion, but something Meyer said about Habana may be pertinent- “What amazes me about Bryan is that sometimes I watch him play Super Rugby and he looks really ordinary but then he pulls on the Springbok jersey and he’s a different player. There is definitely place for pace in modern rugby, and it is our aim to up the tempo of our play and score more tries.

Habana was a deserved recipient of the man of the match award for his role in setting up the first try and then switching the momentum back in the Boks' favour with a brilliant individualistic try in the second half.

The point I have been trying to explain to the Oom is that established international stars will coast a bit in the lesser S15 games. You should judge them in S15 playoffs, key games or tests. The same will be true of Alberts.

Mozart Both Nonu and HJabana had terrible form in Super 15 and Habana definitely improve when he puts on his Springbok jersey - happened in the past as well. Nonu made one significant line break today - but the rest was a mess. The best All Black backline player today was Ben Smith - definitely not Nonu. You really are a great crap spreader around. Your comment as per normal are on the same level. Who are your accepted international stars in this case? Of all the established "stars" - Nonu was acceptable although his defence was messy - Conrad Smith was crap - Israel Dagg was no better. Messam was crap and so was Spies, Kruuger and Jannie Du Plessis. You make the exception the rule and then try and prove something by that. The whole thing is to recognise when the so-called international stars with poor performances carry those poor performances through to international level and realise that they are past their sell-by date. That is a fact you never accept - namely that when test level players fail - they should after a series of failures be replaced. 95% of he poor players on Super 515 level will NOT shine on international level as well . A player like Habana is the exception - not the rule. I have never advocated that Habana should be dropped from the Springbok team because of poor Super 15 level performance - because he has done exactly that in the past. Others have not done it and used Super 15 to try and secure selection to the national side and often enough they succeed in that. Ben Smith and Afeaki is typical examples and so is Arno Botha and Serfontein. If you think Super 15 is not the level where players show their real potential for higher level - you must go and see what happens in practice. .

Not according to Rugby365 OOOOM 12 Ma'a Nonu: Strong run, coming on a good angle early in first half, then a good turnover. Also set up New Zealand's second try with a powerful burst. He was offsides on a couple of times, but showed he still deserves to wear the back jersey. 7/10 I always rate the guys who start things when there is a stalemate. That's what Nonu did today and as a result got the joint highest backline rating. As usual your nonsense has been exposed you old goat. I can just imagine you choking as Habana showed his pure class.

Mozart Just a question - did you actually watch the game - or are you just quoting from the musings of a journalist? Nonu made one significant line break that lead to a try - but for the rest he was the poor defender that did not do his job when the French scored. He also made a number of other mistakes - as well as giving away a penalty. He was better than the rest of the backline bar Ben Smith that played a top game - without the negatives shown by Nonu. Why would I have choked - I was never one that wanted Habana out of the team. I merely stated an obvious fact - namely that he had a poor Super 15 0 which he did - so what is wrong with that,? What of the rest of the under-par players on Super 15 and who were sub-par today as well? Why use the exception and not the rule?

I appreciated the nous Nonu showed running all the way to the line with try scorer not allowing the defender to make a tackle he was otherwise in a position to make. Perfectly legal blocking from an experienced player.

poi-e I acknowdged that Nonu made one good line break today and that is to his credit. For the rest he was very, very average.

How stupid. You insinuate(falsely) that I never watched the game. Then ask me to comment on the play of guys you think are S15 failures. How do you like the egg on your face, Straaik 3 Maaik.

Mozart It was a serious question - because you previously commented on Super 15 games that you actually never saw. However, that is OK. So you did watch the game - saw one movement that caught your attention - and missed completely the rest of Nonu's performance? That is however, normal with you - you are a one-incident jerk.

No it wasn't a serious question....it was a snippy little gotcha question....and your take on Nonu is biased junk.

He was our second best back on the park today, a view shared by most reviews of the match.  Your bias is truly shocking at times...

poi-e Sure - I agree with you. However, the others were so bloody useless - he had to be the second best. Smith was by far the best backline player and it was a close race between Nonu and Ranger - even though the latter was on for a very short while..
