So Moz
Yes at 5 until Snyman plays enough consecutive games to be sure he is robust.
Nope, not a good enough ball carrier or breakdown player….literally any of the loosies or the 5 lock can carry out the process tackle role.
What else does he do for us, nobody seems to be able to explain that.
I admire his stamina, he has a good pick and go move….but a player that tall should be at lock contributing to the lineouts. And it’s not a height thing alone….he plays like a lock, loosies are scavengers, willing to put their bodies on the line at the breakdown.
Best player in the game doing what? Nobody has explained that clearly. The Boks win record when Dud Toit plays…62%. How can he be essential when we win less when he plays.
I see a a lot of tackling …the occasional laugh when he plays out on the wing. What I don’t see are penetrative runs that result in something….offloads….contesting the ball on the deck….taking kickoffs….cover tackling.
Hell I think one of the Deysel twins would provide more value…and certainly players like Ollivon are way better. Hard to say who should take over, nobody has been groomed.
