for a battle royal with old enemy, Oz....in both cricket and rugby. In cricket we have an interesting scenario with star batsman AB side-lined by injury and the Ozzies with a fairly inexperienced attack.
I'm happy to diss our rugby team which is being led by a clueless coach and associates. He doesn't inspire by firstly selecting a bunch of plodders as well as playing half the team out of their positions. V0 etsek Coetzee you're another pretender finish and klaar, I couldn't be bothered.
Back to cricket and clearly the Proteas have the advantage in attack with the hugely experienced Steyn as well as Rabada. Not the greatest spinner of a ball but in Tahir we have a competitor. They lose a gear in Parnell who is yet to deliver at a high level. Abbott gives it his all but remains a journeyman and then there's the lack of a half decent allrounder. There's a huge question mark surrounding our brittle batting lineup in both the top and middle order which is where I think the battle is going to be won. Will a frustrating JP Duminy show some spine and deliver? ....will Dave Miller realise some confidence and play to his potential? Is the investment in Rilee Rossouw going to show value? They would need to if QDK and Amla fail to fire.
