So what are the lessons from a great series....Lions/ABs

The ABs were the better team out there today, except for two things the Lions brought .....defence and goal kicking. The kicking alone was a 12 point swing, two kicks the Lions could have missed and two kicks the ABs should have made. Massive.....if Barrett is to have the glorious AB career his talent promises it may come down to finding another position to do the kicks. ... Then there is defence. The Lions rush defence closed out the ABs short passing game and forced them into tactical kicking.....which became a huge part of the game. The offload....mostly not avaIlable with double tackles inside. ... This was in effect the Lions playing traditional Bok rugby, better than the Boks and being very competitive. You can't say the game has changed till it changes in a massive series like this or the WC knockouts. When the chips are down the old virtues and skills are still very potent.

  Ah the Kak again.  The only things that count is to defend and kick at goal.   The BS of our local idiot  exposed once again.   Teams who score tries are denigrated.
Any team  who lives according to the Mozart tradition has limited success and can occasionally win - but that is indeed utter BS.    Lets take a typical example.   In the round robin game against England in the 2007 WC the Springboks under guidance of Jones played comprehensive rugby and wiped the floor with the English.   In the final back to Mozart's brand - they struggled against the same team = with a real chance of loosing.   They got home with a poor brand of rugby.
