In the build up an Irish foot connected with the ball in the ruck, probably accidental, why wouldn’t Ireland be fighting for the ball rather than conceding it. Then there is a marginal short pass between two Irish players. It has the look of going forward, but the camera is at an angle and the receiving player is probably slightly in front but takes the pass on his trailing hand. Marginal either way.

Still Ireland have the ball and pass it to Gibson-Park. There is the an extra Irish player, but cover coming across. Then the mistake is made Dud Allende bites on a very slight Gibson-Park dummy and opens a lovely channel for him to run through. The November 2021 English test all over again.

Kitshoff was never going to get to Gibson-Park….Dud was the next man in the line and he blew it. Which is why uncharacteristically he chased back so hard.

I’d like to thank Has-Been for drawing attention to this try, otherwise I might have missed the Dud blunder.

That pass looked forward to me Moz,

The distributor had no momentum and at no point was the receiver ever behind him.

Run this at 25% speed - Timestamp; 1:35

Again, our supposed powder-puff Mostert kept us in the game via a move he saw Whitely pull off many times. Heart and brains.

Made a few telling lines on this screenshot RE DDA welcoming the Irish into the Bok 22.

It's when DDA tries to think that problems seem to occur. His best option here was to hold the line. Instead, he rushed out, totally unaware of where Kolbe was. Marx and Willemse have already turned backward while PSDT is looking directly at what is occurring and still heading in the wrong direction.

Libbok please, the sooner the better.

I agree there could have been no drift on that pass and the receiver was slightly ahead of the passer….but he had to reach slightly behind to take it. My still images couldn’t clarify the question and unfortunately your video is disallowed in the States.

The defensive error Dud makes comes from following the tactics. In this instance he needed to focus on the man with the ball….instead he just opened the floodgate.
