No I’m not talking about Board members, I’m talking about players, Cheslin kicks the ball across for the drop out. And for some reason decides to do a little droppie. There are 3 players in the vicinity of the ball….Chocobares, Dud Allende and Willemse.

Chocobares instantly recognizes what’s happened, catches the ball and scores one of the most famous tries in the history of the game. One which will be shown 50 years from now.

Dud Allende trots straight past the ball as it comes down. He recognizes nothing and certainly doesn’t have the smarts to figure out anything. Even catching the ball and passing it to a mate if he doesn’t understand it’s live, is beyond him…..not his problem.

Then there is Willemse who looks confused, anchored on his line, but at least engaged. He seems to understand something weird is going on, but for some reason feels he can’t step over the goal line.

Fifty years from now when M is the grand old man on the Board, posters will ask breathlessly if he saw the strangest try in rugby history live. Are we not entertained.

Um hello - Kolbe was passing the ball to the kicker so obviously his teammates would not be reacting

Fuck just another childish pathetic attempt to discredit DA

Let me guess let’s blame DA for the try

Fuck right off

PATHETIC

If the team bus takes a wrong turn, it is because of Delande's lack of playmaking ability. It is contagious; Willemse would otherwise have picked this up and stopped the try. Maybe Delande should sit at the back of the bus to avoid infecting the bus driver and the sat nav software.

The Bargie center instantly recognizes the situation…..poor Dud is just confused. But then it did take about 60minutes before he figured he was actually playing a rugby match.

The Argie centre is a twat for taking that try - completely against the spirit of the game

It’s on par with a keeper taking the bails off long after the ball has been bowled and the bat sees it as dead and walks out of his crease

Well Rugby is a competitive sport and the Argentine player spotted and executed well!

I bet the Boks would have done exactly the same thing. I also bet that Kolbe won’t make that mistake again:)

Oh Balls. This is what Chat concludes after surveying all the commentary:

My take (in light of absence of strong criticism)

Given the lack of forceful condemnation from respected ex-players or rugby ethicists, I lean further toward the view that the try, while awkward and arguably “unfair” in emotional terms, is not broadly regarded in the rugby community as violating the spirit of the game.

In other words: the consensus (or at least the absence of censure) suggests that many see this as one of those weird but permissible occurrences, rather than a moral lapse.

If you like, I can continue digging (e.g. into post-match interviews, local South African rugby media, or player podcasts) to see whether any retired Springboks or Argentine players have spoken more pointedly. Do you want me to try that

……..

Schalk.gave Kolbe a tongue-in-cheek assist….there are no ethical guard rails to adjudicate this, as there are in cricket for removing the bails. It was a screw up and the Bargies rang the cash register.

Just a pity Dud wasn’t as smart as Chocobares,

There is nothing wrong with taking candy from a baby. There just so happened to be two babies against one professional athlete.

Mozart

click bait sweetie!!

I spoke to Louis Luyts father last night. He confirmed that i

Cheslin was just trying to kick the ball to a team mate for a kick off under the posts.

it was all just a little brain fart.

now go back to Sunday roast with the grand kids!

We know that Chipp…..of course it was just a mistake. On another string I suggested it may have been another Dr Lucky trick….a joke, but only funny because all these tricks are so gormless.

The funny thing here is the reaction to Cheslin’s blunder….Dud Allende clueless, the Bargie center immediately seeing the opportunity and Willemse trying to obey the rules.

Just a little bit of levity, no harm intended….enjoy your evening.

The ball deop kicked over the tryline and and none other than than Kolbe can be blamed for what happened. This kind of picking another player to blame for what happened can only be shit spread by Mozart in his normal style.

Marx got his marching order, Argies a penalty try ... 40min on clock, halftime, or so I thought, head to kitchen for Irish coffee or two, totally onbewus that more drama & more Zuluman magic was unfolding. 4 & a half minutes lol. missed by me.

Magnificent second half after the bizarre first.
