Watching the Luis Suarez bite playing for Liverpool trumps any surreptitious little rugby nibble. This was a full blooded predator attack. Stunning really. It capped two wonderful soccer matches. First the superb Spurs recovery against City, with some brilliant Bale touches. Next the Suarez lows and highs with a hand ball goal concession. ...the cannibal attack.....a header to tie Chelsea at minute 96. Sensational stuff!

Suarez is a disgrace, absolutely disgusting. First he is a cheat (world cup quarter final), a racist ( incident with Patrice Evra) and how this. Should get at least. One year ban, especially considering the fact this isn't the first time he is in trouble with the FA.

The scousers will be out defending him again. True the Spurs turn around was quick and clean. Shitty had no idea what hit them. Donner, but it is tough for a Gunner to admit that. LOL. Truth is though that Spurs, this year, is like the Gunners were last season with Van Persie. If he was not on the pitch, and scored, we were stuffed. Same with Spurs and Bale this year.

Soccer is fake! Diving, acting, pretending! This bite is about the only real thing in soccer.

"we were stuffed". Man windpomp you are loosing your SA identity and becoming a POM!  Best get back to SA fast.

Well said Bluebok - you have to have a circular mind to enjoy soccer - goes round in circles most of the time.

I have been a Gunners supporter before I left SA ou Beenbal. I only started following football in 2005, and left SA in 2008.

Bluebok, I suppose this is not real then:

Cera, I used to watch and enjoy soccer, but I just can't take it seriously anymore. It has become acceptable to cheat in the "sport". The whole world knows that these players are diving (Cheating) and everybody just turns a blind eye to it. The bottom line is tournaments, world cups etc are won and lost on free kicks and penalties that should not have been awarded. As for your pictures of broken limbs, what is that meant to prove? WWE "wrestlers" get genuine injuries all the time, doesn't make WWE real wrestling.

I think you are exagerating the diving issue in football. I have watched a few games this weekend, and I have not seen anything to such an extent that it was making a farse out of the game. I am not saying that it doesn't happen, but it happens in rugby as well. I am getting particularly pissed off with scrummies waving their hands behind rucks and mauls, begging the ref for penalties, and quite often getting them.

Luis is a serial offender. He headbutted a ref and broke his nose as a 15 year old.

Look Cera, you may be right, I last watched a game of soccer about a year ago, so maybe things have changed, I hope that is the case. But the last few games I did watch, left me feeling sick. The thing is, when these guys just collapse into a ball and roll around, because someone has touched them, is just not good sportsmanship. How many times have you seen a player get tackled and there is a little contact, but they could easily stay on their feet, but instead they pull their knees up and fall down....with epic acting to boot. There is now a mindset of looking for an excuse to fall down, instead of them just trying to stay on their feet, and getting on with the game. It is just frustrating!! Also, it is true what you say about rugby, the diving thing has also reared its ugly head a couple of times, but it is not the norm. Scrummies waving arms....well, if the ref has missed something, then I'm ok with that.

My real issue, getting back to football, is that they just refuse to bring in a third umpire, goal line technology has been used a little, but they just seem to ignore the very real need for a review on decisions. It is my understanding the Sepp Blatter just won't hear it, and the reason is there are not enough goals in soccer, and without free kick and penalties, there would be even less.

It is clear that you have not been watching anything football related, hence your remarks about goal line technology. Truth is that I do not really care if you, or anybody else for that matter, watch the game. Neither do I think FIFA or the FA or whover cares a lot in any case. Fact is that it is a very popular sport that is enjoyed by large numbers all over the world. You just have to look at the attendance figures in all matches. Some of the attendance figures from the games of the last weekend: Chelsea/LPool - 45K, Spurs/City - 36K, Norwich/Reading - 26K, Sunderland/Everton - 44K. The lowest was QPR/Stoke at 17K, but then again, the capacity of the stadium is only 18.5K.

The reason for the reluctance to use goal line technology had nothing to do with the number of goals per game at all. It was just a pure resistance to change. Blatter himself was the one who has eventually said that technology has to be introduced ASAP.

FIFA could totally get it out of the game if they wanted to - review game tape and issue fines afterwards for exagerrated flops. Its a blight on the game.

The NBA had the same issue creeping in and got rid of it with serious enforcement. This year has been 10 times better

That is also being done for some time now, Oimatey. The first Gunner I can remember getting carded for that was Eduardo, who got a red, which was later negated. Eduardo has left the club two+ season ago. He is with Shaktar Donetsk now.
