Some bright spots...but we remain conflicted

Jesse Kriel tackled with determination.....and our centre pairing defended much better. The line breaks which characterized the Bargies tests disappeared. 
We also were able to work a few phases.....make a few breaks. But the attack was never convincing, except after the turnovers.

Goosen is feeble but has pace....his attempted tackle on Kerevi was pathetic.
Habana and Hougaard were full of bustle but not much came of it.
De Jongh added some structure, but blotted his copybook by turning the ball over 3 times.
Jantjies is so weak in the tackle and so confusing to the attack...Morne passes better and kicks better and the backline runs at more pace when they aren't frozen by Jantjies.
Faf isn't perfect ....but he makes a big difference.
The Beast was better than Kitshoff. Adriaanse, survived....just. Nyakane didn't.
Etzebeth is our best player....Lomp and Mostert were ineffective. Stephanie lost the ball on the Oz line, missed Foley for the try and was easily gassed by Pocock off the scrum....a very mixed bag.
Louw was poor....Kriel was no better.
Mahoje is a liability and Whiteley scored a good try and made one crucial tackle...but continues to be overwhelmed in contact. More of an impact player.
So we continue to soldier on with inadequate  resources, non test players and losing. This was a weak Aussie team, weakest we have played in years and we couldn't do the business. What price Jake White.

The joke is when a person reads  Mozart player assessments – a real joke in bad  taste and his conclusions are bad news as well.

When Goosen prevented Kerevi scoring a try – “his attempted tackle was pathetic” – an outright lie that one - so there we go again. 

De Jongh missed his first tackle attempt and was pathetic for the rest.   Losing possession has always been  his stock in trade – he is definitely not a test players backside.   Anyway what “structure” did De Jongh add, bearing in mind he was hopeless in any form of attacking play.

What did Morne add that he did not add in his tests since 2012.   We badly needs a flyhalf, not a donkey kicking failure.     We need a player with ball sense,  In the absence of  Pollard and Lambie – Goosen is a better answer at 10.  

This is a weak Aussie team  0 sure it is.   But is it weaker than the team was last year?   I doubt it very much and last year  they also beat the Springboks.   We are now suffering from a  malaise brought on by Meyer ad his non-development of a proper Springbok squad and the worst coach appointment ever when Coetzee was selected as coach.      

Not one grain of truth in that entire response Tokkie.....it's the debacle I warned you about when you were attacking Victor, Frans, Fourie du Preez, Schalk and Alberts....enjoy your crow.

Some of the players acquitted themselves well. It was clearly an amateur coaching staff to select some quality players but no combinations in the backline. As usual- other than the set pieces, tackling and kicking- no game plan existed. 
When Eztebeth knocked on the Habana pass, it was tickets for the Boks.  No cohesion or continuity. 

Faff and Jantjies can get more time. 
Playing at test level with a centre combination 2 players out of position is totally stupid. The chance of them combining well is remote- and neither are very good anyway. 

Why is Dejong at inside centre, and why is Kriel is outside centre? 

They are both playing out of position- and Dejong is not testing standard- and Jessica kriel is is a placeholder fullback at best
Putting Habana at outside centre would be a better option than either of those two dolts. No point having him and bougie on the wing and getting no ball.
Our back row is useless at retaining possession or getting turn overs.

 It was a bit different from the game I watched back in 2013 .That Bok team was relentless and cohesive,this time they seemed to be a bit all over the place .Maybe its as Sharkbok says some are playing out of position ,there seemed to be some confusion at times as to who was supposed to be where.That Etzebeth is a huge lump of a bloke isnt he ? when Hooper was near him he looked like one of the juniors had run on the field !Anyways my commiserations to the Boks and their fans ,well done the Aussies although they should consider themselves a tad lucky .Wish I had been at the ABs game the first half especially was a bit of a cracker eh ?Well done to the Argies ans as for the ABs ,crikey what corker of a team eh ?Still a pretty enjoyable night out .

Mozart's grasping at straws. His favourite center was on display and thus the feeble attempt above. 
I knew he would come up with one of two assessments. Either do the right thing and shoot him down ... as he should have ... or fabricate nonsense as he usually does with a non entity.

In desperation he chose the latter.
In truth ... De Jongh was non existent. We hardly saw him all match long and when he did touch the ball he did absolutely nothing with it. His effort matched that of De Allende defensively ... but without any of the go forward or power plays.  
De Allende would have made a difference to the outcome. 
No fancy stepping ... no getting the back line away ... no structure ... poor decision making ... nothing on attack ... shoddy on defence ... no creativity whatsoever.  It begs the question ... why was he there? Quotas? Jobs for brothers?? We all know it's not on merit!
In the best interest of Bok rugby ... they should send him home to continue with his 7's ... as the 15 man game is not a strength of his. Simply pathetic.
I see Mozart's got the rest of his assessment all screwed up as usual ... not that that's a surprise  
Beast better than Kitshoff!! ... waaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaha!!
Morne better than Jantjies!! ... yeah right!!!!

Listen mongs, you had your Goosen, Kriel, Jantjies, Stephanie, Kriel, Kitshoff flavour of the day choices. You had your new team.....they crashed and burned. Stephanie leaked the deciding try. Live with it.

 Mong leader - you are a good one to speak of other members as mongs, while you are the leader of the mongs (village idiots)/   Your assessment has been so wrong in the past on player performances - no sensible person would believe your present rants,   Try not the falsify performances and keep it honest for a change,  Not a single one of the starting post above was honest/true and you were easily caught out once again.   Typical example- Goosen made a try-saving tackle but you wrote "his attempted tackle on Kerevi was pathetic".   An outright lie and you were not ashamed to write it on the site.             

Everybody can make their own mind up about Gossen's tackle....to me it was high and feeble. You are entitled to your own view Tokkie. What isn't up for debate is this team of flavour of the day Boks are the worst for at least a decade.  

I thought the goose's tackle on Kerevi was perfect. That should have been a try to Kerevi any day of the week. It must have been an alright tackle as a certain try was not awarded.  

Of course you're right, MonsterBok. Anyone who thinks Johan Goosen's try-saving tackle on Kerevi was "feeble" is either very new to rugby or else so biased against the player that he allows his small-minded prejudice to cloud his thinking . . . or in this case, both!

To me it looked like Goosen was attempting to attack the ball in that tackle, which was the right tactic, as he was always going to come second against a guy Kerevi's size if he tried to out muscle him.  After watching the replays on Saturday, I thought the try had been scored, but the decision was Goosen's tackle saved a try. Well done to him!  

The call was a 50-50. The only thing that could have stopped Kerevi was what the Goose did, or a red card shoulder charge. Don't get me wrong, the Goose isn't my hero or anything, but credit due!
