Beeno of course has been spot on about Esterhuizen saying he has not backed up his Super Rugby form so no wonder Rassie went for Allende a sound all round center.

Cape Town - After a couple of years of speculation, it suddenly looks incredibly close to fruition for the Springboks.

Partly by process of simple elimination, Handre Pollard has an excellent chance of being selected at inside centre - it would be a first-time start for him there - for the Rugby Championship Test against Australia at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.

Infinitely more familiar to the flyhalf spot, of course, the 24-year-old would only be challenged by the more specialist Andre Esterhuizen for the midfield role in the encounter in the Friendly City.

For injury-related reasons, the Boks will be without both centres (Damian de Allende and Lukhanyo Am) who ran out at the outset of the famous 36-34 toppling of the All Blacks in Wellington just over a week ago.

Options by head coach Rassie Erasmus for the outside berth are more plentiful: the current squad includes several feasible candidates in the shape of Jesse Kriel (who would be returning to more familiar terrain if he is summoned inward from wing), Lionel Mapoe and rookie call-up Ruhan Nel.

Lions stalwart Mapoe has been returned to the broader mix, while the strapping former Sevens ace Nel, who is also no slouch in the wider slots, has been rewarded for his inspiring showings for Western Province in the Currie Cup thus far.

Especially considering the return to fitness of Sharks flier S’bu Nkosi, who is very likely to get the nod at No 14, Bulls utility back Kriel looks the favourite for the No 13 duty in PE.

There is even a fourth squad option - albeit a long-shot chance - for outside centre, as 20-year-old, multi-talented sensation Damian Willemse could probably perform a credible fill-in role there with his great stepping skills, general elusiveness and sound defensive qualities.

But he is likelier to be come under consideration elsewhere, like fullback, if he gets a game at all against the Wallabies.

The No 12 channel, however, has a leaner cupboard for Erasmus to choose from: really just the brawny Esterhuizen and Pollard.

Esterhuizen has earned four Bok starts thus far in his maiden Test season, although three of those have come in defeats and he is yet to set the world alight.

That only increases the likelihood of Erasmus opting to give 33-cap Pollard, who seems highly adaptable, the inside centre responsibility on Saturday, which would also facilitate a starting recall for Elton Jantjies at pivot and handily give the Boks both left- and right-footed kicking options at ten and twelve.

The pair dovetailed very promisingly when Jantjies entered the fray (at flyhalf) in the 48th minute at the Cake Tin, and Pollard swiftly looked more than comfortable both defensively and in a front-foot capacity when he switched to one berth further out.

Physically (1.88m, and close to 100kg), Pollard has all the right attributes to adjust, even if it is only temporarily, to inside centre.

The Bok team will be announced on Thursday.

Hatred? I don't need to bring Damian into discussion. In fact, the only reason why I discuss him at all is because you keep bringing him up. Esterhuizen can be lauded on his own merits, not via the diminishing everyone else, as you have done. 

Herr Sitzsack, I beat you to the punch nearly two months ago. I also made the selection in my starting XV a few days ago. 

Hence forth, Sitzsack and Pip have made a bit of gaff. The natural order resumes. 

Just one more thing: Lügnerin, do you still insist that Esterhuizen was a failure against Wales? I just want to clear doubts concerning you much esteemed reputation. 

Esterhuizen is a perfectly good player, but Pollard has a more diverse skillset. Its still a gamble though, we are talking Jantjies here. However, his greater inclination to distribute is what gives him a very slight edge over Pollard. Neither are anything special as far as the a battle for territory is concerned, but both have good kicking skills. Kickers at 10 and 12 will be good. Having two skillful distributors at 12 is another good thing. 

Pollard is a very direct runner who will be guaranteed to straighten the attack. I actually punted this idea as far back as 2014. He is strong, but not anywhere close to Frans. He was an absolute nightmare to contain. His ability to suck in defenders is unrivalled by any other South African back. 

Esterhuizen was given a raw deal by Rassie, as he only opened the game up for the centres once Damian was selected. A waste to be perfectly honest, as he was less productive than Esterhuizen with a better platform. 

Look at Damian in 2015, fast forward to 2018. He is exactly the same player with the same flaws. He isn't  getting better with time. None of the plastic's picks ever do. Esterhuizen was given a very raw deal indeed, and Rassie was rewarded with what exactly? What's the point of putting on the Bok jersey if you are competing against mythical creatures who only have to do 1/10 of what you do to be lauded by the media and propelled to 50+ caps?

60 caps. More than Frans, but infinitely less a Springbok. 60 caps of nothing. So much time wasted. 

I'm putting together a video of Esterhuizen to review everything he has done thus far. Maybe the groupies will have a slightly lesser aversion to it than the Steph video. 

I'm contemplating the same for Damian, but there is little point. The smarter people already get it, the rest lie. I see Lügnerin has already rejected video evidence at least twice. These people then have the gall to accuse us of "hate" and "lies".

Piss pot thinking again - and stupidity beyond belief.    Now suddenly why don't you think before displaying total ignorance.

First you should ask whether De Allende did nit get a raw deal in 2015?   Like Pollard he suffered from the idiocy of the Meyer  2004 game plan - where loosies became first receiver from the scrummie and backline play was totally sabotaged.   What did you expect under such circumstances from any backline player?  

De Allende due to injury problems had very little rugby in 2016 and 2017 - and whenever he played the maches he played in was mostly won.

Come 2018 now Esterhuizen suddenly got a raw deal because most of the games he played in was lost - 3 out of 4.   Problem is that only in one match did he make 2 noticeable line breaks - for the rest there was defense deficiencies and really nothing to write home about.

What can one take from two serial BSters that now after years of derision  of Esterhuizen discovered how wonderful he suddenly became.   Why the sudden change of heart in Esterhuizen who as stated in the article really did nothing substantial,   How the generalized BS that his limited number of tackles are strong ones

As to the comments if AgainBSter about Du Toit I frankly am not interested in the video he dug  up about Du Toit.   The reason is clear - for every one mistake of Du Toit there are 10 cases where  he was excellent.   Anyway coming from a screwball that made a vicious attack on everybody who said Louw was useless in the tests he played in and the Mozart idiot who tried to blame Du Toit for the Louw knock-on in the AB test it is indeed rich.   One has to wonder why the worst BSter ever - maybe feels guilty about being exposed for what he really is - now sud denly try and defend the hate campaigns that they have been involved in for years.
