Some observations

Willemse is a class act regardless of where he is on the field

Kolbe was as good as ever and Hooker confirmed he is a test star in the making - the sooner we see him at centre the better

The 4th test saw Arendse back to his best

Jessie had his moments, de Allende was very good in the last two tests

Sacha steadily got better each game - not completely firing but getting there

Manie was good but defensively frail

vd Bergh was what we needed at 9 after the pedestrian, indecisive showings by Reinach who simply has to be put out to pastures

The props had their moments with Ox as ever standing tall.

Marx was colossal - easily player of the series

Fourie off the bench was a flop - poor throw in’s and conceding that penalty attempting a turnover sealed that. Get a proper hooker on the bench

Eben was huge as ever, Lood was a huge improvement physically on Nortje and proved why we would be better served with a proper lock at 5. I’m not convinced by Nortje at all

Siya was good and de Villiers showed he has a bright future at test level.

PSDT was below his usual high standards - missed a few tackles, some being poor reads

Wiese was huge - massive physical presence

Hanekom is pure class he needs far more game time at the highest level

I thought Fourie being made captain once Siya and PSDT had left the field was a slap in the face to Eben

Great performance by the Boks after conceding the first tesr and getting better and better with each outing

Will be interesting to see what team Rassie sends to Oz, will it be the Baltimore boys or the younger brigade?

Dave I posted a video showing that Deon was taken off the ball by a side entry from a wee ab. Deon had his hands on the ball and would definitely have won a turnover.
Deon was possibly made captain to honor him. This guy was overlooked in his prime years through sheer blindness as to how good he was. Whether he goes the RWC next year remains to be seen.
Du Toit played 80 minutes 4 tests in a row as did Nortje. Like Du Toit he has a big engine and great work rate. I think Lood will replace Eben. Lood had a good test. But pairing Eben and Lood is great as long as it's wise to play these guys 80 minutes. Given Eben age I wonder if it is. Maybe in vital matches. Eg quarter finals against we abs next year in RWC.
Cheslin is a truly great player. I saw Plumpster suggesting Arendse is as good or words suggesting that. No ways, nobody has ever beaten players like Cheslin. Superb under the high ball dispite being so short. He is in a class of his own.
Eben proved 2027 is not a mountain too far.
I kept my eye in Sasha when watching the 4th test. He was very unlucky. Goal kicks just missing, a drop just missing, touch finds just missing a great cross kick to Arendse and he knocks on.
Sasha is versatile he obviously can play fullback and would make a great outside center if needed.
I like AE as a loosie. He is a big lad but fast for his size and could supplement out backs out wide very well. An interest loose trip would be Hanekom at 6 Wiese at eight and AE at 7.
Put in Eben and Lood or Snyman at lock and our front row you then have the ultimate power pack.

The guys who have played a lot especially the older guys should at best be used sparingly. No 80 minute stints for the likes of Eben, Nortje Wiese etc. Allende and Kriel as well.
Hooker is young and should be fine to play.
