Somebody who could give Coetzee lessons in what is required from a coach

The following from News24:-
"Ans Botha, coach of South African 400m world record holder, Olympic champion and world champion, Wayde van Niekerk has been named 2017 Coach of the Year by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

Botha, affectionately know as 'Tannie Ans' has guided Van Niekerk to numerous achievements during the course of his career. 

These include two world championship crowns over 400m, an Olympic gold medal and world record over the same distance in Rio in 2016 and a silver medal in the 200m at the IAAF World Championships this year.

Van Niekerk also shattered Usain Bolt's world record this year in the little run 300m event. 

He is also is in line for the IAAF World Athlete of the Year which will be announced later this month. Van Niekerk is currently undergoing rehabilitation for an injured knee and will be out for a period of up to six month, ruling him out of the 2018 Commonwealth Games. 

Botha, who hails from Namibia, was named SA Coach of the Year in 2016."

This old lady has achieved something Coetzee would never achieve  - ie being a top class sport coach - he is headstrong and does know precious little about the code of sport he is supposed to be coaching.

 

 Congrats to Tannie Ans! Coetzee is not worthy to be mentioned in the same post. He has been owned bey every coach the Boks have faced since he was gifted the job. Truly a apathetic ANC quota appointment.

While I fully agree with Coetzee’s coaching abilities, or rather lacke thereof, this is a daft comparison.

Expecting an athletics coach to give a rugby coach lessons, without drawing at least some sort of comparison between the two disciplines.....? Yeah right. Now if you challenged my arguments instead of my persona, you might have come up with some arguments at least. Let’s say, for instance, starting at the roll of Springbok Athlete and sports psychologist, Henning Gericke with the 2007RWC squad.

So - dofdoos - you do not realize that there is more to a coach than just some aspects of the game - like loyalty and strong feeling by the players not to disappoint their coach in performance.   You get your own arguments in a twist by quoting the issue of sport psychology without getting the message originally.
The athletes coached by Tannie Ans adore her as a person - can the same be said about the clueless Coetzee?
