South Africa A team:

15 Aphelele Fassi (Sharks),
14 Suleiman Hartzenberg (Stormers),
13 Henco van Wyk (Lions),
12 Cornal Hendricks (vice-captain, Bulls),
11 Leolin Zas (Stormers),
10 Johan Goosen (Bulls),
9 Herschel Jantjies (Stormers),
8 Jean-Luc du Preez (Sale Sharks),
7 Elrigh Louw (Bulls),
6 Phepsi Buthelezi (Sharks),
5 Ruan Nortje (Bulls),
4 Jason Jenkins (Leinster),
3 Thomas du Toit (captain, Sharks),
2 Joseph Dweba (Stormers),
1 Ntuthuko Mchunu (Sharks)

---

Substitutes:
16 Andre-Hugo Venter (Stormers),
17 Simphiwe Matanzima (Bulls),
18 Sazi Sandi (Stormers),
19 Dan du Preez (Sale Sharks),
20 Sikhumbuzo Notshe (Sharks),
21 Grant Williams (Sharks),
22 Sanele Nohamba (Lions),
23 Gianni Lombard (Lions)

Will be interesting to see how the centre combination goes.
Also how Goosen plays.

Front row might struggle given DuToit is better at loosehead, and Mchunchu is not a 1st choice URC player.

Lombard is on the bench, no sign of Zulu "yet".

I never realised the Creatine Twins were even in the squad.

Overall a really decent team. Like the fact that the creatine twins made it. Probably a better pack than what we had on Saturday.

I like the backline, but Hartzenberg is not a wing.

Also, don't get the logic of having two scrummies on the bench. No Sacha, wonder if he will be selected on Saturday. Will know more tomorrow.

Really good team selection.

If Libbok is not even on the bench, that suggests he is starting against France

Libbok not being included certainty does not mean he will start against France Our lot are too conservative when it comes to selections - Libbok does not know the system so I would not be surprised to see Willemse retained at 10 Also it seems Wiese might be out with concussion and instead of making the obvious call in picking Roos at 8 no doubt we will see Kwagga there So we are going to be taking on a very physical French pack with Mostert at 5 and Kwagga at 8 We might as well concede the game now

What about Ivan Roos? Has he been send back?....must say R&N is wary of picking him after the only hachette Job chance he got....otherwise a good team.

It's also a very Politically correct Picked Team

The Bokkies recent woman's WC games were a revelation .................... 2 or 3 white players, the rest all members of previously disadvantaged ethnicities.

Nice to see Henko there. Roos should replace PSDT in the main side.

Why the heck do we have two scumhalves on the bench?

Is this some kind of experiment where Williams or Nohamba is going to be played on the wing/centre or is it just incompetent planning and selection?

Ridiculous!

Look, i know this is redundant because the combination is likely a one-time thing and Hendricks doesn't have too much more in the tank, but...

"13 Henco van Wyk (Lions),
12 Cornal Hendricks (vice-captain, Bulls)"

...is it only me that is quite excited to see this combo in action?

It just shows you how limited most of us are in our thinking when it comes to Bok selections. Hardly any of us would have come up with that one, and in my view is actually a brilliant combination.

Also, what more does Jenkins have to do? Another one that should already be a Bok regular!

Is the match being played on TV? I looked at Sky, and it was not showing.

I watched the weekend tests on Amazon Prime, maybe they are also showing the match today?

If Jenkins plays well, he might be on the bench against France.

Ditto for either Cornell or Henco, who are competing for the backup position to AM.
Jessica Kreil offers very little on attack, even if he is solid at organising the defence.

Why do we have two ‘scumhalves’  on the bench, gosh who are they?

Sorry to burst your bubbles folks about that lock Jenkins.

1. Did he play?

2. All hype but no show.

3. Nowhere near a Springbok lock.

Sorry.

Nortje was the best player in the  A team and has been outstanding in the Bulls games that I have watched this year.

But again he is to pale to be a Springbok.
