I have allways been surprised in the past that South Africa has not been more dominant in the scrums.
However since the change of the rules that make it more of a proper scrumming contest, SA teams are now bullying the scrums.
I heard naysayers in the past saying that New Zealand had better scrumming techniques, but clearly this is not the case.
Today the Lions made mince meat of the Blues scrum, and the Sharks slapped the Hurricanes around with ease.
I just hope that the rules are not changed again now that SA has taken its rightful place as both the best at lineouts and also scrums, masters of the set piece universe!.
