There was only one SA player in the Barbarians starting line-up - namely Juan de Jongh at 13. He was largely invisible during the game both in defense and attacking play. The only time he was really noticed wa whenh attempted two interceps and both taimes he kncked on tthe ball. The only posite thing h did was to get a change-over from F ainga'a that let to the Saili try. Assessment - really out of depth at this level.
Kirwen made a mistake by changing his props too late. The scrumming was iffy before th change-over and especilly Thoma du Toit was impressive in both the scrumming and the one turnover he made. Very strong guy - the Tank (his nickname) and that at 19 years of age.
Adriaanse was solid in the scrum and together with Du Toit gave the Barbarians the uppr hand in scrummin g af ter they came on.
Brussow was rather invisible and there is nothing much to report o him.
Pretorius -excellent performance when he came on - our most under-valued scrummy.
Boshoff - did very well when he came on and the tr y he scored showed a lot of ball sens.
