The Wallabies beat Wales 30-26 in Cardiff to add to the misery of coach Warren Gatland against the Southern Hemisphere big three. Gatland, as coach of Wales has won one in 24.
Wales led 16-10 after 38 minutes, but conceded 20 unanswered points in as many minutes and then couldn’t make a one man advantage count in the last 10 minutes.
Wales simply are not good enough. In the professional era they have never been good enough.
Gatland will always have a British and Irish Lions Series win against Australia to savour but the reality is that as the Welsh coach his team has never delivered against Australia, New Zealand or South Africa.
A year ago New Zealand lead 30-0 before counting down the clock 30-10. South Africa also comfortably dealt with Wales. Now Australia have added to the misery.
It was Australia’s ninth successive win against Wales and the visitors ended their European tour with four wins in five. They lost to England in the tour opener but hammered Italy and Ireland and beat Scotland and Wales by six and four points respectively.
NOw please note that kiwis you should as ALL know have lost to Ireland but OZ accounted for them and won well.
If Ireland had beaten the abs and the abs had played and lost to Wales as was likely (Think also of France) well where would we be then with only the Might Boks carrying the SH flag.
Makes one realise the SH teams benefited from the draw as the abs didn't play Wales and had a really hugely lucky win against Ireland.
