They both had their best games in years. No more sleep walking by JP.....instead aggressive, alert play. Spies disrupted the Pom lineout, broke a few tackles and hit the rucks with more intent. Will the motivation last....who knows, but today they were good.

Jean who provides so much vision and Fransie had super games in midfield. Hougaard also made the adjustment and cleared his lines with authority. Etzebeth was a force, more so than last week.

Concerns included the performance of the front row, which creaked a bit all game and finally imploded when Werner Kruger came on. I also thought Coetzee showed a bit of inexperience backpeddling too far on that Youngs tap that resulted in a try. And obviously Morne's kicking is now officially a problem

Overall we looked so dominant for 60 minutes, but still left the Poms an opening. Our defence doesn't seem totally organized.

On a separate note, looking at the colour of Heyneke's face when he was shouting on the phone, he better have his blood pressure checked. The lad was the colour of a beetroot.

I am probably the biggest closet JP fan.

People often fail to acknowledge the dirty work he does.

I know a winger should finish off moves etc...

But in JP, he has made so many try savign tackles

He doesn't get much quick ball from his backs, but today he again showed a clean pair of heels

He showed that he can match the best in terms of space and work rate.

As for Spies....

Still dont think he is our best number 8.

He always does well when the Boks are marching forward... but when the going gets tough, we goes on walk-abouts far too often.

I take back what I've said about JP and Bissie, brilliant game for the both of them.

Well done to the Boks! great first half, England had a shocker.  England did  well to come back in the second half! was not impressed with the selection of the subs for SA. All you need is to find a kicker like Sefton or Halfpenny lol.

I think they got it from Meyer and the result was a vast improvement in their game.   EWhat about a lecture for Steyn - he was not up to standard.    I think Daniel and Kruger - as well as Strauss - were not up to standard - end of story.

Yep.....it's odd that Morne has lost his goal kicking just when his general play is maturing nicely. I agree Mo we subbed into the Pom resurgence......shades of PdV.

Cannot fault your logic Mozart - both players, but add Hougaard too - that tail they built at the ruck is gone and his service improved two fold.
