More muscles for all the guys he tries to tackle to bounce off from.

This guy has been described previously as - "built like Tarzan and play rugby like Jane". He falls down before he gets tackled and has speed and muscles, but nothing else.
Bar the difference in physical attributes - Spies reminds me in some respects of Victor Matfield - who needs the mucles badly - but the two have one thing in common - they are both gruntless.

As long as someone at the Bulls explain basic physics to him so he understands how contact in the tackle works.

Ou maaaikie maybe spiesies has had time to recover his mojo?
His chances of ever playing for the B oks again are good judging by how old favourites never die with Meyer

Shaking like a leaf out of a Spies tackle yes.

The only kgs Spies would have put on are kgs of steroids, much like the much vaunted (what a joke!) Itsabutt! The downside of steroids is that any size gained in the muscle department has the opposite effect on the recipient' s heart size, as the aforementioned players have amply displayed in the last year!

You don't need muscles - all you need is a bent Stadium TV producer

When Spies left RWC07 with what seemed like a career ending medical problem, dark rumors abounded. And he hasn't done much since.
Still he had one huge fan. RooiAAS claimed that our chances of winning the RWC were slim to none. ....and slim left town when Spies got hurt. Hahaha..one of the ultimate examples of early mouth.

Go to YouTube, check the video hilites of his early career, then find some more recent clips of the oak. Talk about chalk & cheese............... devastatingly sad.

That illness set him back. I wonder if it was mental. But something changed big time.Well lets hope Spies comes back real strong and rattles the kiwis with some bone jarring tackles ala Vermuelen and Bissie for example.
One thing the kiwis dont like is in your face rugby. They are netballers after all!

We also smashed all teams in Tier 1 rugby Cloudy We did allow the poor wee Boks one "win" just to keep them motivated - generous to a fault some would say

Hi Cloudy, I am fine, thanks for asking. A bit busy lately but still giving a nudge to the needy if they get too far out of line
AB vs. Wales will be a good game. Can't wait to see some of our first-line players back in action

Looks like they have been keeping poor wee Spies in chains, trying to train him not to get yellow carded I guess, lol There are probably a few more Boks players who could benefit from the same training program.

Moolaa. Eben comes from an infamous rugby family in the Northern suburbs of Cape Town. Whole lot are known for their short fuses and aggression. At age 60 odd, his uncle Cliffie got a gold medal in wrestling for seniors. International competition I might add. Natural athletes. There is no chance he is on roids. Spies, who knows?

Very funny. I actually met Arnold Schwarzenegger many years ago and he is actually a clever guy. He took to bodty-building because he had a longue problem - was very slim during his earlier years and then "discovered" steroids. Am surprized he is still alive - steroids addicts die rather young mostly due to kidney failure. Same problem Jonah Lomu has.
I do not think Spies dares to take anything like steroids - he has a blood clotting problem and has to be specially treated for that. Steroids would have a serious detrimental affect on him. His father - also a rugby player - had the same problem and died relatively young because of a heart attack.
Etzebeth is a naturally huge bloke and the SA mamas know how to cook to make them bigger. When Etzebeth was in school he at one stae weighed 140 kgs and they started to trim him down to get him to his present 125kgs. He is a gym fanatic and eventually the Stromers gym had to buy heavier weights specially to cater for him. Sorry no steroids there.
The other huge bloke was in the 2014 Junior WC - Thomas du Toit. He is not called for nothing the Tank. He is a prop - not as tall as the others - but he says his mother never said -"If you finish your food - you can get dessert" - she said "If you finsih your food - you can get another helping".
They naturally come big in SA - so lets leave it at that.

Come again OOm is that a "longue" problem or a tongue problem or a lung problem. Spies also had a "longue" problem.
22 Nov 2014, 21:32#23
Mike, those muscles on Spies and Itsabutt look artificially obtained to us rugby supporters who are not Bok fans. Let's leave it at that.....
