Anyone know of a good cheap/free software to use for sports ana.lysis?

I have found the telestration one used on Sky, where they can animate graphics over the play, slow it down, highlight spaces etc. Unfortunately it's rather pricey lol.

If i don't find a cheap one then i am gonna buy that one as i think it will be awesome balls.

But any advice would be very welcome.

I haven't looked for something like this in ages. Not since I discovered that an Opta Sports license was £12,000 per annum, a few years ago, in any case.

I just came across this one, and it looks to be free. Will download it and have a look.

I have also found the Performa (http://www.performasports.com/pricing ) one which is £8/month for the basic one, which they describe as:

Our basic plans are ideal for fans, enthusiasts, junior clubs and proud parents.

  • Unlimited Games
  • Unlimited Offline Players
  • 1 Analyst Account
  • 250MB Data Storage
  • 20 Online Player Accounts

I have downloaded the Kinovea one and had a bit of a look and it appears to have quite a bit of functionality. I do not have any downloaded clips on this laptop at the moment and will get some and have a look at a real clip. It does not give you any stats automatically though and I do not see that you would find any software capable of doing that. Even Opta's stats are done manually by operators.

It can definitely do those overlaps where you can overlay two images onto one to explain different actions and occurrences in play.

Hey, I downloaded it too and glad that spazzy debate about creation seems to be over now so i can use the little time i have to see if i can manage anything with it.
Gosh, never thought it would be that tricky trying to find what on the surface seems a pretty simple software. Not in so much demand i guess.
Thanks for your help
